Beef Imports Demand Planner

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Demand Planner to join our team! This person will assist in reviewing demand forecasts for both Trim and Ground Beef Production and work cross functionally with various departments at our Corporate Headquarters in Greeley, CO . This position is responsible for forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The Planner assists with data analysis to create and maintain forecast models for customers and products and forecasting information gathered from sales, marketing, and other sources. The Planner is the integration point between sales, operations and supply chain.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for frozen imported raw material supply chain from Inspection Port to Domestic Ground Beef production facilities.
  • Cut PO's once pricing and delivery plant is settled for both comm import and branded/specialty items
  • Coordinate with DGB product buyer to optimize warehouse plan best paired with grind mix by plant to optimize largest cost savings
  • Maintain delivery schedule at the inbound port level, ensuring loads are inspected and available when originally booked for, if not, working with our import partners to determine fulfillment
  • Reviewing on hand inventory and weekly inclusion performance of each grind facility
  • Drive operational change with ground beef production facilities and monitor daily inclusion to ensure we maximize inclusion pounds
  • Work closely with ground beef scheduling to satisfy raw material needs to accommodate weekly production and various ad's that are booked
  • Using that performance data to assign delivery dates for inspected PO's to ensure grind plants have available frozen trim prior to running out, then communicate the delivery schedule out to production teams.
  • Track inbound frozen truck deliveries and address any discrepancies or issues that occur between Import and plant teams
  • Publish monthly reports as needed for KPI data collection
  • Take DGB (domestic ground beef) model, and apply to other domestic customers
  • Use the demand planning software as well as historical data base to drive forecasting decisions.
  • Drive P&L awareness and profitability performance in Ground Beef and Trim operations
  • Occasional travel to facilities to better understand the business and issues that they face.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business or agriculture is strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of food production industry experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process.
  • Above Average Microsoft Excel skills.
  • An ability to view the supply chain as a series of linked processes.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and acute attention to details.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and ask questions as needed.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $75,000-$90,000
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company's annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
