What you will do:- Learn and contribute to the systemization of Baseband features in the Physical Layer and Radio Resource Management (RRM) - think Beamforming, Massive MIMO, Carrier Aggregation, and Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS)
- Support the specification of 5G and 6G system functionality, including requirements, algorithms, and use cases - you'll see how cutting-edge standards are actually built
- Develop and maintain simulations at both the link-level and network-level - a fantastic way to build deep technical intuition early in your career
- Assist in system verification, analyze test results, and contribute to technical quality discussions alongside experienced engineers
- Participate in design reviews and grow your ability to contribute to complex cross-functional technical conversations
- Get exposure to real customer deployments, understanding how R&D work translates into live networks around the world
The skills you will bring:- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 0-5 year of experience programming in C/C++, Java, or MATLAB - Python is a bonus; we care more about your fundamentals and willingness to grow than mastery of every language
- Foundational knowledge of wireless communications theory - coursework in signal processing, OFDM, MIMO, or radio systems is exactly the kind of background we value
- Some familiarity with 3GPP standards - even academic exposure is a great starting point
- Curiosity, a problem-solving mindset, and the drive to work through complex technical challenges
Nice to have:- Exposure to simulation environments (link-level or system-level) through coursework or research projects
- Any interest or coursework in cloud-native, virtualized RAN, or O-RAN concepts
- Awareness of how AI/ML is being applied to next-generation telecom systems - this space is growing fast and we'd love engineers who are excited about it

The salary range for this position is
• Ottawa: $85,000 to $111,300
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan (select if STV): Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.
