Project SummaryAIS is seeking an experienced
AWS Cloud Engineer to support a Federal contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large-scale, multi-cloud environment spanning AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud while supporting a critical mission focused on improving system resiliency, security, and cost effectiveness.
This is a hands-on technical role responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting scalable cloud-native solutions while applying best practices across cloud architecture, development, operations, automation, and security. The selected candidate will support cloud solutions throughout the full lifecycle, including design, development, testing, integration, production deployment, sustainment, and maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have experience working across multiple cloud platforms and will be comfortable architecting, building, troubleshooting, automating, and optimizing cloud solutions while providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide cloud operations and engineering support to enhance, sustain, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure AWS cloud solutions.
- Perform AWS cloud operations, sustainment, and maintenance activities to maintain optimal cloud performance, security, and user experience.
- Develop cloud strategies and roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives and technical requirements.
- Drive adoption of DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks.
- Support the design, implementation, and sustainment of secure cloud architectures utilizing zero-trust principles and defense-in-depth strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including SOC 2, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
- Architect, implement, and maintain cloud networking security controls, including STIG requirements.
- Implement identity and access management (IAM) solutions and security monitoring frameworks.
- Assess legacy systems and design modernization strategies, including containerization and microservices.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD workflows and infrastructure-as-code solutions using Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole.
- Support DevSecOps practices through automation and continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines.
Required For This Opportunity- Twelve (12) years of experience supporting and engineering AWS cloud environments.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- IAT-2 Certification (such as Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, etc.)
- One (1) or more Cloud-based Certifications (preferably AWS)
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience working in multi-cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud.
- Experience developing and supporting cloud-native solutions throughout the full system lifecycle, including design, development, testing, integration, deployment, sustainment, and maintenance.
- Experience driving DevOps adoption, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks.
- Experience designing and implementing secure cloud architectures using zero-trust principles and defense-in-depth strategies.
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole.
Nice to Have Skills- Experience supporting Government cloud modernization initiatives.
- Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to engineering teams.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise cloud environments.

At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member.The targeted base salary range for this role is $154,000-$232,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.We value transparency in our hiring process and are happy to discuss how your unique qualifications align with our compensation structure during the interview process.
