Full Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic claims leader to head our Public Company Management Liability and Financial Institutions Claims organization within Financial Lines Claims. This highly visible officer-level role offers the opportunity to lead a talented team of more than 25 claims professionals while influencing the direction, performance, and continued evolution of a critical business segment.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will drive strategy, operational excellence, and innovation across the organization, ensuring the delivery of exceptional claims outcomes and customer experiences. You will partner closely with senior business leaders, underwriters, brokers, and clients to advance enterprise priorities, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and shape best-in-class claims practices.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
  • Leads the Public Company Management Liability and Financial Institutions Claims team with full accountability for implementing strategic objectives to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of claims services and achievement of short-term business results for area(s) of responsibility.
  • Provides leadership and direction and has full management accountability for all members of the team with an emphasis on developing both technical and leadership skills, maximizing employee engagement and succession planning in accordance with the company's talent management programs.
  • Drives for superior customer experience and continuous improvement through the development and implementation of claims and company initiatives involving human capital, processes and technology.
  • Works with senior leadership in the development and implementation of claims handling protocols, business strategies and key priorities, regularly evaluating performance against goals; and holding self and team accountable for achieving desired results.
  • Applies insights from data analytics to effectively manage operation and identify and address efficiency and effectiveness opportunities.
  • Manages expenses for area of responsibility by following claims handling protocols, effectively managing productivity and use of external resources, leveraging technology and using data analytics to analyze trends and maximizing organization performance.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with internal and external business partners including Operations, Underwriting, Actuary and Risk Control and regularly shares claims outcomes, trends, legal developments and other business relevant updates.
  • Participates in the development and execution of a comprehensive communication plan that includes sharing and reinforcing appropriate information via multiple delivery options including regular group meetings, individual settings, and other available media formats. Able to develop and present comprehensive and executive level operational summaries to senior leadership.
  • Protects company assets and reputation by ensuring compliance with state/territory regulations and requirements and identifying emerging issues and trends that may have a significant impact on claims practices and procedures.
  • Leads and/or participate in special projects and may represent the company at industry events.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree with Master's or J.D. preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Typically a minimum of ten years of related work experience, with minimum five years management experience.
  • Experience managing leaders of claims teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in direct handling or managing teams that handle public company management liability and securities class action claims.
  • Applicable certifications or professional designations preferred.
