Job Summary
The Automation/SDET Test Engineer - III will design, develop, execute, and maintain automated testing solutions for complex applications. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Selenium and/or Protractor/Cucumber, JavaScript/TypeScript, Playwright, Java, API testing, and BDD/ATDD/TDD practices. The engineer will work within Agile sprint cycles, identify defects and root causes, develop automated test frameworks, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate closely with application development, QA, business analysis, and database teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test cases using Playwright, Selenium, Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Create and maintain complex Feature Files using Gherkin syntax.
• Develop automated tests using BDD, ATDD, and TDD processes.
• Build and maintain automated testing solutions using the Page Object Model (POM).
• Develop API automation using Java Rest Assured and support API testing using Postman or SOAP-based testing tools.
• Integrate automated testing frameworks with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven, and Ansible.
• Support Selenium-to-Playwright conversion initiatives.
• Test applications built using Angular and Spring technologies.
• Develop SQL scripts involving multiple joins for data validation and testing.
• Analyze application issues, identify root causes, and document findings.
• Identify defects effectively and ensure appropriate test coverage for complex application scenarios.
• Assess application functionality and determine appropriate candidates for automation versus manual testing.
• Participate in Agile methodologies, sprint planning, testing cycles, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with application developers, QA teams, business systems analysts, and database administrators.
• Contribute to test strategy, framework improvements, reusable automation components, and continuous quality improvement.
• Support automated testing tools and technologies including JIRA, GitLab, Nexus, and XLDeploy as applicable.
Required Qualifications
• 7 years of hands-on experience with Selenium or 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Protractor/Cucumber.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience creating Feature Files using Gherkin for complex scenarios.
• Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and Selenium.
• Strong experience with Java and Java Rest Assured framework.
• Experience implementing the Page Object Model (POM).
• Hands-on experience with ATDD, BDD, and TDD processes.
• Experience working in Agile methodologies and sprint cycles.
• Experience developing SQL scripts with multiple joins.
• Strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong defect identification and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience evaluating test cases and determining appropriate automation versus manual testing approaches.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration using Jenkins, Maven, and Ansible.
• Experience with Angular and Spring technologies.

• Experience with AI-driven test automation.
