Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead Automation QA Engineer to drive the transition from legacy automation frameworks to a modern Playwright-based automation platform. This role is responsible for developing scalable automation frameworks, creating automated test scripts, collaborating with DevOps teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines, and providing technical leadership on automation best practices. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Playwright, TypeScript, JavaScript, API automation, and modern DevOps practices, along with excellent communication and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Develop scalable automation solutions to support functional, regression, end-to-end, and API testing.
• Lead the migration from legacy automation frameworks to modern Playwright-based automation solutions.
• Collaborate with QA, Development, and DevOps teams to design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in technical discussions regarding deployment strategies, containerization, and automation infrastructure.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and other DevOps tools.
• Develop and execute API automation using Postman and related technologies.
• Troubleshoot automation issues and continuously improve test framework performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship on Playwright, TypeScript, JavaScript, and automation best practices.
• Review automation code, establish coding standards, and promote quality engineering practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and improve software quality.
• Support containerized testing environments using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
• Stay current with emerging automation technologies, testing frameworks, and DevOps best practices.
• Document automation frameworks, testing processes, and technical implementation guidelines.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong experience developing automated test frameworks using Playwright.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Experience developing automated test scripts for enterprise web applications.
• Strong experience with API testing and automation using Postman.
• Solid understanding of software development principles and modern testing methodologies.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience using GitLab or similar source control and CI/CD platforms.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience collaborating with DevOps teams on deployment strategies and automation infrastructure.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to lead automation initiatives and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
