Position Description: This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities: . Write moderate to complex code/ scripts to test systems.
. Design, develop and maintain a modular, extensible, and reusable test automation framework to enable continuous testing in an agile environment.
. Work closely with the Lead to provide testing and project status updates, escalating issues as needed.
. Develop coding standards and testing approaches, enhance existing testing framework, and research/ implement new testing methodologies to best complement tech stack for the team.
. Work closely with Product Owner/ BSA to determine near-term and future plans for the team.
. Collaborate with Delivery Lead to plan milestones, successfully execute software delivery, and escalate issues as needed.
. Prioritize testing of projects effectively across various businesses, to drive efficient work.
. Conduct root cause analysis of post-production issues and plan to prevent them in future.
. Provide coaching and mentoring to team members and provide employee feedback regarding performance and future development to Team Lead, Software Testing.
. Facilitate communication, coordinate, and motivate team to achieve shared goals.
. Have in-depth and up-to-date understanding of the organization's products, applications, systems, environments, processes and tools.
. Introduce and influence overall process improvements and act as an agent for change to the organization.
. Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
. Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . 4+ years of Quality Engineering experience and in-depth knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java or Javascript), frameworks, and utilities (e.g. Selenium WebDriver, Playwright or WebdriverIO)
. Experience with API testing (preferably using Postman)
. Excellent communication skills with ability to influence decision making across stakeholders

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000-$115,000. This role is an existing vacancy.**
