Job Description SummaryThe Audit Software Engineer Consultant II is a hands-on engineer embedded within Internal Audit, working at the intersection of software engineering, data analytics, automation, and audit business needs. This role designs, develops, deploys, and supports secure, scalable digital solutions that improve audit planning, fieldwork, testing, reporting, and quality processes.
The engineer partners with auditors, data analytics team members, product owners, and enterprise technology teams to translate audit requirements and analytic models into production-ready applications, APIs, data integrations, and reusable services. The role contributes across the full delivery lifecycle, including solution design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and production support.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support full-stack applications, backend services, APIs, data integrations, and automation solutions for Internal Audit.
- Partner with auditors, data analytics team members, and product owners to understand audit workflows, user needs, risks, controls, and acceptance criteria, then translate them into practical technical solutions.
- Build reusable components, libraries, frameworks, and shared services that reduce duplication and support consistent delivery across audit teams and use cases.
- Integrate analytics, AI-enabled capabilities, and workflow automation into audit products with appropriate security, validation, monitoring, and human oversight.
- Apply software engineering practices such as version control, code review, automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, technical documentation, and secure coding.
- Create and maintain deployment pipelines and environment configurations in alignment with enterprise architecture, security, privacy, data governance, and technology standards.
- Monitor application performance and reliability, troubleshoot defects, support production releases, and implement sustainable fixes and improvements.
- Participate in backlog refinement, iteration planning, standups, demonstrations, and retrospectives, helping the team define clear stories, technical requirements, dependencies, and delivery risks.
- Collaborate with platform engineers and enterprise technology partners to integrate audit solutions with approved cloud, data, identity, and deployment services.
- Contribute to technical standards, architecture decisions, knowledge sharing, code reviews, and documentation that strengthen the engineering capability within Internal Audit.
Qualifications- 2 or more years of software engineering or application development experience preferred.
- Experience developing and supporting production applications, APIs, or automation solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks. Python experience is preferred.
- Experience with Git-based development workflows, pull requests, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience working with relational databases, data pipelines, cloud services, containers, or infrastructure automation is preferred.
- Ability to translate business requirements into maintainable technical solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.
- Experience in audit, risk, compliance, financial services, or another regulated environment is helpful but not required.
- Experience developing or integrating analytics, machine learning, generative AI, agents, or workflow automation is helpful but not required.

CompensationCompensation offered for this role is 70,100.00 - 121,475.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
