About the Role:

Dow Jones is seeking an Audience Development Manager to join our Consumer Subscriptions team. In this role, you will be responsible for growing the reach, engagement and subscription impact of Dow Jones media properties, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's and MarketWatch. The ideal candidate will be able to identify audience demand, translate that demand into scalable growth opportunities, and work cross-functionally with Product and Newsroom teams to turn audience initiatives into measurable business outcomes. Success will be measured by the ability to grow qualified audiences, deepen engagement, and connect audience development work to registrations, subscriptions and long-term customer value.

You Will:
  • Platform Audience Growth: Drive audience development and subscription growth across a diverse platform ecosystem, including video, audio, social, LLM surfaces, app stores, and search. Identify how each platform can expand qualified reach, build habitual engagement, and create scalable pathways to registration and subscription, while overseeing key growth partnerships including SEO consulting support.
  • Subscription Funnel Development: Translate audience reach into subscription outcomes by connecting audience initiatives to registration, newsletter signup, engagement, and conversion.
  • Cross-Functional Execution: Partner closely with Product, Newsroom, and Acquisition teams to scope, prioritize and execute audience growth initiatives across brands and platforms.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Define and track KPIs to measure the success of audience development initiatives. Provide regular reporting and insights to stakeholders, highlighting progress, surfacing risks and recommending optimizations.
  • Roadmap and Stakeholder Management: Help maintain shared roadmaps, coordinate workstreams and ensure audience goals are translated into actionable plans across multiple teams and brands.

You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field or equivalent experience preferred. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in audience development, digital marketing, or a related role within the media or publishing industry.
  • Proven track record of driving audience growth and engagement through strategic initiatives and partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, content distribution strategies, and audience segmentation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Product and Newsroom, to execute audience development strategies.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the media landscape, including emerging trends and platforms, is highly desirable.
  • Passion for journalism, news, and staying informed about current events.
