Position Overview
Primary Purpose of PositionThe Associate Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment Management (AVPEM) provides executive leadership for the University's comprehensive enrollment strategy, overseeing recruitment, financial aid, and student onboarding through degree completion. The AVPSEM is responsible for achieving institutional enrollment goals through data-informed planning, integrated operations, and collaboration with Academic Affairs and institutional leadership.
This position leads a coordinated enrollment enterprise and drives initiatives to improve student access, persistence, and completion. The AVPSEM reports to the Provost and serves as a key advisor on enrollment strategy and institutional priorities.
Minimum Requirements• Master's degree in higher education administration, student personnel, or a related field.
• Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible senior-level administrative experience in enrollment management or student services within higher education.
• Demonstrated success in strategic enrollment planning, including recruitment, financial aid coordination, and retention initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop teams in a complex organizational environment.
• Strong analytical skills, including experience using data to inform decision-making and assess outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage different stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets and organizational resources.
• Working knowledge of student information systems and enrollment technologies.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education• Doctoral degree in higher education administration or a related field.
• Experience at an institution of comparable size, complexity, or mission, such as a public research university or HBCU.
• Experience implementing advanced enrollment analytics, including predictive modeling or financial aid leveraging strategies.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide change initiatives, such as CRM implementation, process redesign, or technology modernization.
• Experience aligning enrollment strategy with institutional strategic planning and representing the institution at the system, state, or national level.
Required License or CertificationIs this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site)
