Associate Vice President, B2B/Technology Communications
Location: Chicago, IL or Detroit, MIAs an Associate Vice President, you will manage strategic B2B and technology accounts, leading integrated PR programs that drive measurable business impact. You will serve as a primary partner to our clients, mentoring cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact storytelling, earned media results and executive thought leadership. In this role, you will balance earned media relations with social-led content strategies, while leveraging AI tools to sharpen research, media targeting, and campaign efficiency. From high-level budget management to overseeing complex account workstreams, you will ensure our programs are strategically grounded and flawlessly executed.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary contact for B2B and tech clients, translating complex technical roadmaps into integrated earned, owned, and paid media strategies that achieve brand objectives.
- Leverage deep knowledge of industry trends, competitor landscapes, and business strategies to counsel clients and drive winning campaigns.
- Oversee project lifecycles-including budgeting, quality control, and SOW adherence-while proactively troubleshooting challenges to ensure seamless delivery.
- Maintain high-tier business/tech press connections and manage partnerships with digital creators and industry influencers.
- Lead sophisticated B2B social strategies, focusing on executive thought leadership (LinkedIn), community building, and AI-driven social integration.
- Support and lead organic and net-new business pitches, demonstrating how FINN's integrated vision and AI capabilities provide a competitive edge.
- Implement Generative AI tools to optimize content workflows, enhance data analysis, and provide predictive insights for client campaigns.
- Manage and mentor junior staff, ensuring high-impact work and professional development across account teams.
Requirements- 7-10 years of experience in B2B and technology comms/PR, ideally within an agency setting
- Interest and expertise in the evolving earned media landscape; proven network of top-tier traditional and social media outlets important to clients' business
- Experience managing campaigns that unify PR, social media, and content marketing to drive the lead-gen funnel
- An unflappable problem solver who can anticipate and proactively offer solutions to clients and senior leadership; anticipate problems before they arise through regular client check-ins and communication
- Strong fluency in the AI landscape and a proven ability to explain its business impact to clients
- Expert-level understanding of the B2B social ecosystem, employee advocacy, and paid social integration
- Ability to distill complex technical jargon into compelling narratives for C-suite audiences and top-tier media.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale budgets, resource allocation, and profitable account growth
- Proficiency with modern marketing tools (e.g., ChatGPT/Claude for business, MuckRack, Meltwater, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and CRM platforms)
The salary range for this role is $95,000-$110,000. The salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate's experience and dependent on the workplace.#LI-LG1
