As a Senior Staff User Experience Designer at SolarWinds, you will take ownership of designing intuitive, high-impact experiences for AI-driven tools within the SolarWinds Observability Platform. You will be responsible for a core AI-powered service within the platform, working closely with Product Management, Data Science, and Engineering to drive usability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

We seek a highly experienced UX professional who can work independently, collaborate effectively, and contribute to our global design system. What You'll Do

• Own the UX for a core AI-driven service within the SolarWinds Observability Platform, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience for enterprise users.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Owners, Engineers, Data Scientists, and Designers to create AI-enhanced user experiences.
• Design interfaces that effectively communicate AI-generated insights, predictions, and recommendations while maintaining user trust and transparency.
• Create detailed wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications for AI-driven workflows and automation.
• Leverage UX research and customer insights to inform design decisions and optimize AI-based interactions.
• Ensure design consistency and scalability by contributing to our component-based design system.
• Advocate for user-centered AI design principles, ensuring that AI features enhance rather than hinder usability.
• Work closely with developers and data scientists to oversee the implementation of AI-driven features and maintain quality.
• Mentor other designers, providing guidance on AI design best practices and strategy.

What You Bring

• 7+ years of experience in UX or UI design for enterprise SaaS products, with experience in AI-driven applications preferred.
• Strong ability to design for complex workflows and data visualization, including AI-powered dashboards and predictive analytics.
• Experience designing AI interactions that balance automation with human oversight.
• High-fidelity wireframing and prototyping expertise using tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Zeplin.
• Proven ability to ship enterprise-grade product experiences, as shown in a strong portfolio.
• Expertise in systems thinking and component-based design, including design systems and UI patterns.
• Strong communication skills to present and justify AI design decisions to stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in Agile teams, iterating quickly based on feedback and user testing.
• Experience collaborating with engineering and data science teams to ensure AI implementation accuracy.

Bonus Points for

• Experience designing developer tools, observability platforms, or incident management software.
• Previous work in B2B SaaS or fast-paced startups.
• Knowledge of ethical AI principles and designing for AI explainability and user control.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and data visualization for AI-driven insights.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, or front-end development concepts, though not required.
