Full Job Description
What You'll Be Doing

As an Associate in Global Markets Analytics, embedded within the Resource Management Group, you'll play a key role in driving resource optimization across the trading floor. You'll design, develop, and deliver data science and reporting solutions that empower traders, risk managers, and senior stakeholders with actionable insights. Working at the intersection of quantitative analysis, software engineering, and capital markets, you'll transform complex trading and liquidity data into dynamic tools and platforms. You'll be responsible for turning proof-of-concept frameworks into production-grade user interfaces and analytical solutions, supporting high-impact decision making in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to deliver high-quality solutions at pace, adapt to evolving requirements, and work independently will be essential to your success.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you'll be on-site full-time.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

We are committed to providing fair, equitable, and competitive compensation opportunities for all employees and we encourage open conversations about compensation throughout the recruitment process.

How You'll Succeed
  • UI & Framework Productionization - Collaborate with the team to elevate proof-of-concept and skeleton frameworks into robust, user-facing applications that support dynamic reporting and real-time analysis for trading desks and senior stakeholders.
  • Dashboard Development - Design and build dashboards that provide timely, accurate visibility into liquidity, secured funding positions, and resource metrics, enhancing transparency and supporting performance attribution and decision-making.
  • Data Analytics - Develop analytical solutions for collateral efficiency, overborrow analysis, and repo/securities efficiency, enabling the desk to optimize collateral usage and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • What-If Scenario Analysis - Build tools that allow users to upload hypothetical portfolios, model impacts across resource constraints, and enable stress testing capabilities within the liquidity framework for risk management.
  • Integrated Planning - Create planning tools that connect directly to what-if scenarios, funds transfer pricing outputs, and liquidity risk metrics, supporting forward-looking resource and capital planning tied to real desk dynamics.

Who You Are
  • You are a strong product builder and creative designer. You have significant, demonstrable experience with Python and SQL, and are comfortable building end-to-end analytical solutions from data ingestion to front-end reporting and visualization.
  • You have expertise in data engineering and cloud platforms. Experience with Databricks and Plotly Dash, building and maintaining data pipelines, and working within cloud-based data environments is a significant asset.
  • You bring machine learning knowledge. Applying machine learning techniques to financial or operational datasets is an asset, and you know how to translate predictive or optimization models into practical desk tools.
  • You thrive in dynamic environments. You are comfortable operating with evolving requirements and deliver value quickly, managing your workload effectively with minimal supervision.
  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and translating large, multi-source datasets into clear, impactful insights that drive better decisions.
  • You are a compelling communicator. You can articulate technical concepts clearly to both quantitative and non-technical audiences, including traders, risk managers, and senior leadership.
  • You are digitally savvy and detail-oriented. You embrace evolving technologies, adapt quickly to new tools, and notice things others don't, with a passion for continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
