Position Responsibilities
Assisting in designing, prototyping, and documenting technologies for application in SEL products or solutions.
Assist engineers in research and writing new ideas and functional specifications.
Analyze competitor products.
Participate in the development of application notes, white papers, technical reports, and conference and journal papers on innovative applications or ideas.
Protect SEL intellectual property by writing patent and copyright applications.
Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power preferred, related or equivalent experience is acceptable.
Knowledge in one of the following areas:
Power systems:
-- Power system analysis, power system protection, and power system stability
-- Experience with EMTP, load flow, and short circuit studies
-- Experience with digital signal processing
Demonstrated excellent writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Willing to travel up to 25%

Pay Range Data

We anticipate filling this position as an Associate Research Engineer: $84,000 - $124,000. Our compensation ranges are based on the responsibilities of the role. Starting pay is determined individually and considers factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and training. Candidates may be considered at different levels based on their background. As a result, pay may vary to align with the level of the role.
