About The JobOpenTable is looking for an Associate Manager, Accounting to own a highly technical portfolio spanning partnership revenue, loyalty, and leases, along with other technical areas such as bad debt, prepaids, and accruals, and the close-related operations that support them. The role sits at the intersection of technical accounting, revenue recognition, contract interpretation, and cross-functional business partnership.
This is an Associate Manager-level individual contributor role with significant ownership and influence: you'll lead complex workstreams, coach teammates, streamline processes, and work cross-functionally to support business partners. It's built for someone with strong judgment and technical depth who can navigate the organization independently, lead day-to-day execution, communicate plan and progress clearly, and improve how the work gets done. This role reports to the Manager, Accounting.
Responsibilities- Own the end-to-end accounting for fast-growing strategic partnership revenue programs, managing complex models to support revenue and expense recognition and balance sheet treatment
- Own the technical accounting for the evolving loyalty program, using judgment to evaluate the key assumptions that drive it
- Lead the accounting across other technical areas including leases, bad debt, prepaids, and accruals, spanning multiple OpenTable legal entities, all reported under US GAAP
- Manage close-related accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet integrity across these areas
- Organize and lead cross-functional workstreams, building strong, productive working relationships with stakeholders across the company - including teammates and partners in Finance, Product, Legal, Sales, Strategy, Operations, and AP
- Prepare clear technical accounting memos and documentation, support internal controls, and walk internal and external auditors through positions and supporting evidence
- Drive process improvements that reduce manual work and help the team scale, through stronger process design, system connectivity, and AI-enabled workflows
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with deep knowledge of US GAAP, including operationalizing guidance for revenue recognition (ASC 606) and lease accounting (ASC 842).
- CPA certification or equivalent technical accounting depth.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including extensive experience with complex financial modeling, lookups, and pivot tables.
- Demonstrated analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in public accounting or professional financial services.
- Proficiency with NetSuite or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in utilizing artificial intelligence and automation tools to enhance process scalability and quality.

The expected range of compensation for this position based in Toronto, Canada, including commission and/or bonuses, is $100,000 - $120,000 CAD. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a compensation range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required.
