The
U.S. Controllership team is responsible for U.S. GAAP reporting, statutory financial statements, month-end close, balance sheet governance, audit support, and legal entity compliance across OpenText's U.S. operations. We partner closely with Tax, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, HR, and business leaders to provide accounting expertise, maintain strong financial controls, support strategic initiatives, and drive continuous process improvement. The team also plays a key role in acquisitions, legal entity restructurings, system implementations, and other enterprise-wide projects while ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting.
Your ImpactThe Sr. Financial Analyst (FA) will work with the Sr. Manager, Financial Controllership and Assistant Financial Controller to support the controllership functions for Open Text's and Micro Focus' US entities. The Sr. FA will be an integral part of the accounting cycle, providing support to the Global Finance team, assisting in accounting and financial reporting activities as well as regional requirements for the particular legal entities in the US. The Sr. FA will be a key member of the North American finance team, managing traditional controllership responsibilities, in addition to being a significant contributor to the consolidated US GAAP close.
As a Sr Financial Analyst, you will:- Support the US GAAP close process, including analytical review of period-end financial results and supporting documentation.
- Assist the Sr. Manager, Financial Controllership and Assistant Financial Controller in responding to management inquiries related to balance sheet and P&L reviews.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, ensuring strong controls and accounting best practices across Centers of Excellence.
- Prepare, review, and upload journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.
- Support US Controllership and tax compliance activities, including annual tax returns, supporting documentation, and statutory filings.
- Prepare US GAAP financial statements, annual legal entity memos, and required US statistical filings.
- Provide financial support for key projects, business requests, and knowledge transfer activities related to acquired entities.
- Support acquisitions, divestitures, GL and legal entity system migrations, including post-acquisition integration and migration activities.
What you need to succeed:- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis or a similar role, preferably within a public technology company.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with the ability to build effective partnerships.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
- Understanding of accounting ERP systems; experience with enterprise financial platforms is considered an asset.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to take initiative while continuously learning and developing.
- University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA designation or progress toward a CPA (or equivalent) preferred.

Salary Range: $76,800 - $115,200; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
