Position Summary: As an Associate Legal Counsel, you will provide strategic legal advice and counsel to internal business partners with respect to healthcare regulations and laws, predominantly the 340B services team. You will identify business and legal risks and provide solutions which balance legal issues and business objectives. You will support the contracting and operational work for the 340B services team. You will work collaboratively with other internal partners across the enterprise requiring you to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients at all levels of the organization.
Required Qualifications:- 3+ years of experience as an attorney with a law firm, healthcare company or judicial clerkship
- Licensed to practice law and current, active member in good standing of a state bar
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Responsive to requests and strong adherence to deadlines
- Ability to handle multiple priorities within deadlines without significant direct supervision
- Customer-focused orientation
- Foster collaborative and collegial relationships with colleagues and clients
- Assist with special projects and serve on cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel up to 5% (including by plane)
Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of laws and regulations that impact the 340B services team, including the 340B statue, HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, False Claims Act, and Federal Anti-Kickback statue
- Strong interpersonal skills with knowledge of healthcare regulatory and contract law
- Ability to assess business and legal risk while balancing practical solutions
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across all levels and with external partners
- Capable of managing multiple, complex projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience overseeing outside counsel and consultants and handling sensitive initiatives
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound professional judgment
Education:Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate required
Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $236,900.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
