Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Testing Center Operations
Oversee the scheduling, administration, and documentation of accommodated exams, including extended time, reduced-distraction environments, assistive technology use, and alternative formats.
Manage daily workflow, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and student-centered service delivery.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures that align with ADA, Section 504, and institutional guidelines.
Ensure secure handling, storage, and return of exam materials.
Assistive Technology & Accessibility
Maintain expert-level understanding of assistive technologies commonly used in higher education, such as screen readers, speech-to-text tools, alternative input devices, magnification software, and accessible testing platforms.
Evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance accessibility and improve testing experiences for students with disabilities.
Train staff and proctors on the proper setup, troubleshooting, and support of assistive technology during exams.
Collaborate with campus IT, instructional design teams, and faculty to ensure digital assessments meet accessibility standards.
Online & Hybrid Course Exam Proctoring
Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of secure online proctoring processes for hybrid courses.
Research and recommend proctoring platforms, tools, and workflows that balance academic integrity with accessibility needs.
Coordinate with faculty to adapt exam formats and proctoring requirements for students using accommodations in virtual environments.
Create guidelines and training materials for students and faculty on accessible online testing procedures.
Collaboration & Communication
Serve as a primary liaison between DSS, faculty, academic departments, and campus partners regarding testing accommodations and policies.
Provide consultation and training to faculty on accessible assessment design and accommodation implementation.
Communicate regularly with students to ensure understanding of testing procedures, responsibilities, and available supports.
Supervision & Leadership
Supervise testing center staff, including proctors, administrative support, and student employees.
Provide ongoing training, performance evaluation, and professional development opportunities.
Foster a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Data Management & Compliance
Maintain accurate records of exams administered, accommodations used, and operational metrics.
Prepare reports for institutional planning, accreditation, and compliance audits.
Ensure all testing practices meet federal, state, and institutional accessibility requirements.

Requisite Qualifications
Typically a Bachelor’s degree in education, disability services, psychology, higher education administration, or related field. A master’s degree in a related field.
Minimum 4 years experience working in disability support services, testing services, or a related accessibility-focused environment. Experience developing or managing online proctoring systems is preferred.
Experience in higher education administration or student services.
Knowledge of ADA, Section 504, and best practices for academic accommodations.
Demonstrated proficiency with assistive technologies and accessible digital tools.
Familiarity with learning management systems.
Strong organizational, supervisory, and communication skills.

Staff RegularSalary range
$78,600.00 - $102,200.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.Please note that this position may not be eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
