Full Job Description
Associate Director of Data & Evaluation Hybrid Full-Time (40 hours per week) Position in Oakland, CA (Exempt) What You Will Do In this role, you will support the Senior Director of Operations in advancing the growth, structure, strategy, and long-term sustainability of the agency's Data & Evaluation department. You will play a key role in ensuring data systems and processes are managed efficiently, aligned with organizational goals, and responsive to compliance requirements, reporting standards, and programmatic data needs. Responsibilities include • Oversee daily operations of the entire data team, including the Data &Evaluation Coordinator • Manage and maintain all data systems to ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency across programs. • Ensure timely and accurate submission of required reports, including internal, funder, and compliance reporting. • Develop, monitor, and improve data workflows, tracking tools, and reporting processes. • Conduct regular data quality assurance reviews and implement corrective actions as needed. • Provide training, technical assistance, and ongoing support to staff on data systems, data entry protocols, and reporting requirements. • Collaborate with program and operations teams to align data collection with program outcomes and organizational goals. • Partner with the leadership team to design and execute data collection, evaluation, and reporting frameworks that drive the agency's strategic vision and long-term goals. • Provide dashboards, reports, and data insights to the leadership team to support decision-making and drive the agency's Data & Evaluation strategy. • Ensure compliance with all data privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.. • Actively participate in reflective supervision • Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures in relation to duties of the job • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor What qualifications are required for this position? • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience), preferred • 2-5 years of experience managing data systems, databases, or case management platforms (e.g., HMIS, Looker, Clarity, or similar), strongly preferred. • Proficiency in database management, data entry protocols, and data integrity best practices. • Strong understanding of data privacy, security standards, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, confidentiality protocols, or funder reporting guidelines). • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain data tracking systems, dashboards, and reporting tools. • Experience supporting program teams with data collection, quality assurance, and performance reporting. • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify system issues and implement timely solutions. • Ability to train staff on data systems, workflows, and compliance expectations in both group and 1:1 settings. • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Effective communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly guidance. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively. • Demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed practices and serving survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking • Able to complete a background check, fingerprinting (Live Scan), and completion of all Community Care Licensing requirement documents. Able to meet all licensing requirements of Community Care Licensing. Working Conditions This position is hybrid with a mix of in person & remote work. Time spent on-site versus remote working will be discussed and agreed upon with your supervisor. You are expected to be available on-site as necessary given business needs. You must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform physical activities, including lifting up to 25 pounds. You will be subject to frequent interruptions and must be able to multitask and handle stress. Local travel in the greater Bay Area may be required. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, exempt salaried position. This is a hybrid position (flex work), with some days required in our Oakland and/or Castro Valley office.
