About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Pharmacist with a background in managing pharmacy operations, ideally in an online or warehouse direct-to-patient environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations, and a commitment to patient safety and compliance.
Given LillyDirect's national footprint, this position carries deep multi-state regulatory responsibility. The successful candidate holds active, unrestricted pharmacist licensure in 15 or more U.S. states and brings substantive experience navigating board-of-pharmacy requirements, scope-of-practice variations, and license maintenance obligations across multiple jurisdictions. The position will support LillyDirect across all aspects of direct-to-patient pharmacy, including operational input, multi-state licensing and regulatory compliance, various process flows and models of pharmacy operations, acts of pharmacy across states, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain active, unrestricted pharmacist licensure in 15 or more U.S. states and serve as the in-house multi-state regulatory subject matter expert across the LillyDirect operating footprint.
- Monitor changes in state pharmacy practice acts, board rulings, and regulatory guidance across all states in scope, and translate those updates into actionable operational, policy, and SOP changes.
- Provide consultation and team support for technical and regulatory knowledge and activities related to pharmacy practice.
- Support Lilly commercial oversight and issue resolution.
- When needed, verify accuracy of prescription orders and resolve issues with prescribers and patients.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to pharmacy practice and patient confidentiality across every jurisdiction in which LillyDirect operates.
- Collaborate with internal teams (logistics, commercial operations, customer support, IT) to streamline processes and enhance patient satisfaction.
- Provide guidance and support to external pharmacy staff and operations, addressing operational challenges in collaboration with commercial leadership.
- Review and improve workflow processes to optimize efficiency and patient care.
- Stay current on industry trends and technological advancements related to direct-to-patient pharmacy operations and translate those into operational changes that drive state-of-the-art execution.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of processes and systems that support pharmacy operations.
- Per the in-office schedule created by the pharmacy scheduler, this position will be expected to work scheduled shifts, which will typically fall Tuesday through Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Remote work flexibility applies consistent with Lilly's remote work policy.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
- Active, unrestricted Indiana pharmacist license in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-state pharmacy licensure, including renewals, continuing education tracking, and license maintenance across jurisdictions.

Additional Preferences- Active, unrestricted pharmacist licensure in 15 or more additional U.S. states (in addition to Indiana), in good standing with each respective Board of Pharmacy. Documentation of all current licenses will be required at offer stage.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for online and warehouse-based pharmacies, including non-dispensing intake models.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience with pharmacy management software and automated dispensing systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Experience with a variety of industry parcel systems and their associated tradeoffs and applications.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate across levels of technical experts and senior leadership.
- Familiarity with NABP services (e.g., e-Profile, License Transfer) and multi-state license maintenance platforms.
Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$127,500 - $187,000
