Job Title: Associate Director, Hedge Fund Accounting

Locations: Dallas, TX (hybrid)

About the Role

As an Associate Director, you will play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional fund accounting services while partnering with Directors to oversee client relationships and team performance. You'll lead complex engagements, mentor staff, and help drive operational excellence, ensuring high-quality service and technical accuracy across a portfolio of alternative investment funds.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Manage a portfolio of alternative investment fund clients, partnering with senior leadership to deliver exceptional client service, oversee engagement timelines, and ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource by reviewing fund governing documents, complex investment transactions, workpapers, management fee calculations, investor allocations, capital activity, and distribution waterfall models to ensure compliance with fund terms and accounting standards
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, supporting schedules, and other client deliverables while driving consistency, quality, and continuous improvement in review processes and controls
  • Lead the coordination of year-end audits and collaborate with clients, auditors, and internal tax teams to support timely financial reporting and compliance requirements
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members by providing technical guidance, performance feedback, career development support, and opportunities for continued learning and growth
  • Build strong client relationships by participating in client meetings, supporting business development initiatives, and proactively addressing client needs and expectation
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives and operational improvements that enhance efficiency, strengthen team performance, and support the firm's overall business objectives


Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 8-10+ years of accounting experience, including significant experience with alternative investment funds
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other comprehensive bases of accounting, with an emphasis on investment partnerships
  • 3-5+ years of experience leading and developing accounting professionals
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and client engagements in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and relationship management skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
