Responsibilities:
Lead in all aspects of the Credit Ratings process, from quantitative analytics, conducting client-facing meetings, engaging with the issuer, presenting in committees, to publishing an issuer's Rating.
Manage a portfolio of 10-12 bank credits with ongoing surveillance responsibilities using advanced fundamental credit analysis techniques
Conduct detailed research and high-level advanced analysis on complex industry topics, such as capital frameworks, operational risk, liquidity risk and complex quantitative modeling leading to credit insights, peer comparisons and industry commentaries.
Assisting in the ongoing development of the team's junior analysts through coaching and mentoring on complex credit matters.
Remain organized to successfully manage competing priorities and deadlines, while effectively handling multiple tasks amongst issuers, investors, analysts, colleagues, and internal business partners.
Collaborate with stakeholders across functions to build consensus and deliver strategic solutions
Demonstrate expertise in financial statement analysis and accounting concepts in all analytical work
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates): The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $190,000 USD depending on location, experience, and skills. Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to Canadian Candidates:) S&P Global states that the anticipated range of compensation for this position is CAD 110,000 to CAD163,000. Final compensation for this role will be based on the individual's performance, geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 6+ years of experience in Research (Credit or Equity), Banking, Risk Management, or Underwriting.
Strong client-facing and relationship management skills with excellent communication abilities (oral and written)
Proven research capabilities with strong analytical skills and a good understanding of financial statement analysis and accounting concepts are required
Must have a solid understanding of fixed income/debt capital markets.
Strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint and database application skills are required, and coding experience is a plus.
Bachelor's is required, preferably in finance, economics, accounting or business.
Must be highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines while multitasking and handling multiple assignments.
We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
Preferred Qualifications:
An advanced degree or CFA/FRM is strongly preferred.
Experience managing resources and operating with autonomy in complex analytical environments
Demonstrated ability to provide detailed analysis and apply results to improve operational effectiveness
