Job Description:

This senior role leads a team responsible for inbound supply chain and Commercial Operations for Packaging Materials. They connect Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain Operations, and suppliers to drive value leadership, supplier performance management, supplier claims governance, resiliency plans, and OTIF service excellence for MSNA.

In addition to managing the operational team and day-to-day supply base management, this leader serves as a critical leadership member of the NA Commercial Operations Leadership Team. The role strengthens material value streams, ensures supplier accountability, mitigates supply risk, and optimizes total cost of ownership (TCO) in a collaborative, BU driven environment.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • 5 + years of relevant business experience in logistics, purchasing, research and development, innovation execution, vendor assurance, or related field.
  • 3 + years of experience using SAP or similar ERP software to order and manage inventory.
  • Proficient in Power BI, SAP and MRP systems
  • Experience in commodity markets and/or materials sourcing
  • Experience in Raw Materials & Packaging materials logistics and/or sourcing.
  • Travel Required - up to 20%


What will be your key responsibilities?

Team Leadership, Coaching & Systems Capability
  • Leadership: Lead and evolve the team as MSNA and Global Commercial Op Model implements for Mars Snacking and Accelerator.
  • Systems Functional Expert (FE): Serve as a go-to team Functional Expert for critical commercial systems, including SAP, Sievo, Power BI, Nexus
  • Coaching & Playbooks: Actively coach team members on Standard Operating Environment (SOE) execution (e.g., crafting impactful One-Pagers and Presentations). Maintain and update team operational playbooks to drive standard work.
  • Voice of the Team & Maintenance: Act as the collective voice of the operational team to elevate continuous improvement ideas.


2. Commercial Operations (COP) Initiatives

  • Packaging Resiliency & SLA Champion: Serve as a functional Champion for Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and supplier resiliency, driving compliance, vulnerability mapping, and risk mitigation across the segment.
  • Project and Innovation Acceleration: Act as the Point of Contact (POC) for commercial projects acceleration for Packaging. Support the Commercial Operations implementation of Segment Sourcing Strategies (MSSM/BAR).


3. Leadership, Network & Escalation Management

  • Representation: Act as the designated representative for Packaging categories at key Commercial and cross-functional SOE and S&OP meetings when required.
  • Network Project Leadership: Lead and represent the Commercial Operations function in major network-level and cross-functional supply chain projects.


4. Category Strategy & Commercial Execution

  • Category Strategy Co-Development: Partner with Strategic Sourcing (MSSM) to drive value creation, resilience, and optimized commercial outcomes for the NA region.
  • TCO Optimization: Lead commercial execution for assigned categories with a sharp focus on value leadership, total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization, and cost-to-serve improvements.
  • Sourcing & Spot Buys: Execute cost, service, and working-capital improvement initiatives. Manage spot buys and immediate short-term mitigation actions for emerging supply risks.


5. Supplier Performance, Risk & Resiliency

  • SPM & KPI Governance: Own and lead the Supplier Performance Management (SPM) framework, including KPI governance, business reviews, and robust corrective action plans.
  • Supplier Accountability: Ensure supplier accountability in region for OTIF (On-Time, In-Full), quality, service reliability, and overall compliance with Mars operational standards.
  • Resiliency Planning: Lead supplier capability reviews in partnership with Packaging Category SMEs, dual-sourcing evaluations, safety stock strategies, and business continuity planning to mitigate geopolitical, logistics, capacity, and quality risks.


6. Supply Chain & Value Stream Optimization

  • Forecast Visibility: Provide accurate, timely forecast visibility to suppliers to support capacity planning and uninterrupted supply lines.
  • Flow & Lead Time Optimization for Packaging: Partner with Planning and Logistics to optimize material flows, improve lead times, streamline pipeline designs, and reduce working capital.
  • Performance Tracking: Track, analyze, and communicate key metrics including OTIF, lead-time adherence, inventory health, resiliency KPIs, claims recovery, and cost savings.


7. Quality, Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Compliance Assurance: Drive supplier compliance with Mars procurement policies, regulatory requirements, trade standards, and operational guidelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate highly effective collaboration between Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA), Manufacturing/Planning (MP), R&D, and suppliers. Keep internal stakeholders promptly informed of operational progress and resolution of escalated risks.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 134,400.00 - USD 184,800.00
