Pricing AnalystChicago, ILThe SRM Pricing Analyst (this role) reports to the Director of Pricing serving as a key business partner for Sales and CBU/Marketing teams. This analyst role is an integral member of the local centre of excellence team for pricing, helping build an understanding of the retail pricing value chain for the development and execution of MSNA pricing strategies for profitable category growth with customers.
What are we looking for?Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Sales, Commercial Strategy, Consumer Insights, Data Science/Analysis and/or Financial Analysis preferably within a CPG environment.
- A proven record in analyzing and modelling complicated data sets and the creation of analysis tools (Excel, Databases) to aid decision making and the ability to use this information to reach insightful conclusions and create robust recommendations ('So What') and present outputs in an informative way.
- Able to build successful working relationships, being a key contributor as part of a cross functional team.
- Able to effectively articulate and convey ideas and thoughts in a simple and effective manner. Not afraid to voice ideas or opinions within a peer group
- An understanding of the commercial P&L from RRP to NSV is required, including how changes in sales and investments affect this.
Preferred Qualifications:Functional/technical understanding and know-how across pricing specifically:
Pricing Knowledge (Preferred) - An understanding of:
- Consumer/shopper concepts of price (Elasticity, thresholds and partitions)
- Pack Price Architecture terminologies graphs/curves
- Pricing metrics (NSV/Volume) & P&L lines (RRP, LP & TNP)
Pricing Strategy (Helpful) - An understanding of the different strategies or tactics that can be used to drive price in a Market and their impact on the 5C's (i.e. Category, Consumer, Customer, Competitor, Company).
What would be your key responsibilities?- Own the creation and maintenance of the CBU brand pack price architecture curve reporting and analysis (from RRP to List Price & TNP) to ensure a clear understanding of the portfolios architecture and recommended trade margins and profit pools, and partner with 1.) CBU/Marketing teams to help inform ongoing gaps in portfolio for expansion/NPD 2.) Sales teams to inform Customer/Channel portfolio opportunities 3.) Demand Finance, SRM, Sales & CBU/Marketing team to inform ongoing profit pool opportunities for the company and customer across the portfolio.
- Support the SRM Pricing Manager in evaluating and creating recommendations on long term portfolio pricing strategy for the market by creating robust fact bases on brand/pack/channel pricing dynamics.
- Under the guidance of the SRM Pricing Manager, support any annual cost price increase execution by 1.) Ensuring all system changes are implemented on time (where appropriate) 2.) Creating appropriate reporting and analysis to understand impact of changes on the market as well as returns versus business case/assumptions.
- Construct and maintain regular quarterly Pricing scorecards for the market including analysis of ongoing pricing and mix delivery versus KPI's/ business targets.
- Work with Demand Finance to create robust analysis methods, looking at volume and value to help inform portfolio mix guidance for the sales and marketing teams.
- (Where appropriate) Help to reduce any potential financial risk caused by cross border operations and or parallel trade within the market by: 1.) Partnering with Demand S&F Analysts to ensure accuracy and timeliness of local net pricing data inputs for SONAR pricing tool 2.) Leveraging SONAR tool to manage & track triple/quadruple net pricing data across the key international and local customers 3.) Support SRM Pricing Manager to implement regional pricing actions from regional pricing council.
- Own the creation and analysis of all pricing reporting for the CBU/brands, including on a periodic basis: 1.) Monitoring Retail Pricing Landscape and Pricing status across Categories/CBUs (e.g. Price Points, Price Tiers, partitions) 2.) Conducting detailed pricing analysis across channels / pack types to highlight opportunities/gaps in the portfolio 3.) Tracking competitors and multi-category pricing and pack architecture changes to develop understanding and insights.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
The pay range listed is applicable to IL:USD 74,511.00 - USD 102,453.00
