At Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, the Assistant Director of Patient Care role will be to oversee and delegate the daily operations of the Oncology unit, while fostering a positive work environment. They will be responsible for anticipating and addressing the complex, individual needs of patients and will work to create an efficient workflow within the unit. As an Assistant Director Patient Care, a typical day may include: - The Assistant Director will assist the Nursing Director with unit Operations and will provide support to the nursing team
- They will supervise, assess and evaluate the safe and quality care of all patients during their shift
- Daily audits of clinical documentation and care plans, daily rounding with patients for patient satisfaction and coordination of care
- Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services
- Assists the staff with development / implementation of the nursing process (i.e. admission assessment, discharge plans and patient teaching)
- Delegates and prioritize work assignments according to the individual associates' competence and patient care needs
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in managing resources, staff and supplies
- Follows established guidelines for staffing & scheduling policies, as related to daily staffing, OT, and budgetary justification

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing. A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or currently matriculating; Current New Jersey RN License; Charge Nurse Experience or Nurse Manager Experience; Chemotherapy/Biotherapy/Immunotherapy experience; Provider card required; Oncology experience. Must be able to work 37.5 hours a week - Nights and 2 weekend shifts per month.
