Full Job Description
To strengthen our North American BIM team and support major transportation and underground infrastructure projects: ARX is seeking a BIM professional to join our team in Toronto with strong hands-on experience within the Bentley ecosystem, capable of developing and coordinating multidisciplinary infrastructure models and supporting their progression through different Levels of Development. The successful candidate will combine strong modeling skills with an understanding of BIM coordination, information management and engineering workflows. Duties & Responsibilities • Develop and update parametric BIM models based on engineering drawings, sketches, specifications and BIM requirements. • Support model development and progression from LOD 100 to LOD 500, including geometry and associated information requirements. • Produce engineering drawings and other project deliverables derived from BIM models. • Perform model federation, interdisciplinary coordination and clash detection. • Identify and resolve modeling and coordination issues in collaboration with BIM Coordinators, BIM Managers and Project Engineers. • Perform BIM model QA/QC, including geometry, attributes, classification and model consistency checks. • Manage model information in accordance with project BIM requirements, naming conventions and established workflows. • Support the development and maintenance of project templates, catalogs, libraries, WorkSets and modeling standards. • Work within a Common Data Environment (CDE) and contribute to structured BIM information-management processes. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, Drafting or a related field. • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in BIM modeling for civil or infrastructure projects. • Strong experience with Bentley OpenBuildings Designer and MicroStation. • Good working knowledge of the Bentley infrastructure environment, including OpenRoads Designer and/or OpenTunnel Designer. • Experience developing and coordinating complex 3D infrastructure models. • Understanding of LOD/LOI, model federation, clash detection and BIM QA/QC processes. • Ability to read and interpret civil, structural and multidisciplinary engineering drawings. • Good understanding of BIM standards and information-management principles, including ISO 19650. • Professional proficiency in English, other languages are a plus. • Legally authorized to work in Canada. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in rail, metro, tunnel and other large-scale multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. • Experience working on projects delivered according to Canadian or U.S. BIM/CAD standards. • Knowledge of ProjectWise and Common Data Environment workflows. • Experience with iTwin / iModels for model federation, review and coordination. • Familiarity with OpenTunnel Designer. • Experience with Bentley configuration environments, including WorkSpaces, WorkSets, catalogs and data-driven model objects. • Familiarity with model progression toward LOD 400 / construction-level BIM deliverables. • Proactive mindset, strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
