Job Summary:

In this role, you will plan, develop, design, coordinate, and review architectural work on large projects with unique requirements. You will prepare discipline estimates and work plans, review and approve design documents, interpret regulations, and assist with performance reporting. Your recommendations for resolving complex issues will help ensure client satisfaction with a project's architectural aspects. #LI-ME1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews architectural work on large pharmaceutical projects.
  • Coordinates and interfaces with the day-to-day technical work of personnel
  • Supports preparation of job hour estimates, staffing needs and schedules
  • Provides the technical input to meet procurement requirements
  • Prepares and oversees the preparation of architectural documents and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Reviews and approves architectural drawings and documents
  • Coordinates with client representatives to obtain approval of architectural aspects of the work
  • Reviews and approves supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the assigned project
  • Mentors architectural personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
  • Licensed Architect registered to practice architecture in Texas
  • 8+ years of experience within regulated GMP environments (Pharma, Biotech, or Medical Devices).


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of architectural design, production techniques, building specifications, construction documents, and project delivery methods
  • Knowledge of building codes, current industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to architectural work
  • Experience in value engineering and proposing alternate technical concepts
  • Experience in coordination of architectural design with other engineering disciplines and functions which will include construction, estimating, project controls, procurement, and contracts management
  • Experience in monitoring and ensuring compliance with project budgets, schedules, quantities, and quality requirements
  • Knowledge and experience using BIM, Autodesk Design suite (e.g., Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks)
  • Proven ability to lead and work within a diverse multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting site startups, major expansions, or large capital projects
