As a Level 2 Application Support Engineer, you'll take ownership of the reliability and performance of mission-critical trading platforms. This is more than a support role-you'll drive operational excellence, influence system design, mentor team members, and grow your expertise in SRE practices and modern infrastructure. What Will You Do?- Own the reliability of critical production systems, proactively monitoring and resolving issues across web servers, application servers, middleware, and trading platform infrastructure
- Lead incident response and change management, coordinating cross-functional teams, conducting thorough root cause analysis, and implementing preventative measures that reduce future incidents
- Drive operational excellence by championing SRE practices, automating repetitive workflows, and aligning technical initiatives with business priorities to improve system resilience
- Provide technical leadership by collaborating with development, infrastructure, and L3 support teams to solve complex challenges, and mentoring junior engineers as the team grows
- Manage and optimize application job scheduling, ensuring seamless execution of critical processes and supporting smooth deployments during project implementations
- Influence system architecture by bringing frontline insights to design discussions, helping shape decisions around scalability, reliability, and user experience
What Do You Need to Succeed?Must Have- 5-10 years of production support experience, ideally in financial services, trading, or other high-availability environments
- Strong SQL skills for querying, analyzing data, and troubleshooting application issues
- Hands-on experience supporting .NET and Java applications in both traditional and modern containerized environments (Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of VMs, cloud platforms, and infrastructure fundamentals
- Working knowledge of microservices architectures and RESTful APIs
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability tools: Dynatrace Managed, Catchpoint, Kibana, Splunk
- Deep familiarity with incident and change management frameworks (ITIL or similar)
- Comfortable participating in rotating 724 on-call support (with fair scheduling and team backup)
Nice-to-Have:- Hands-on experience applying SRE principles (SLOs, error budgets, blameless postmortems)
- Background in asset management or CMDB processes

Pay RangeThe expected pay range for this position is:
$67,000.00 - $110,000.00
