Responsibilities

LMI is seeking an experienced Appian Developer to support Army Acquisition, Training, and Readiness (AT&R) in the sustainment and enhancement of the Army Contract Writing System (ACWS). ACWS is built on the Appian Platform. The Appian Developer will design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain Appian solutions that support contract writing and related Army Contracting Enterprise business processes.

The ideal candidate will translate functional and technical requirements into scalable Appian solutions, collaborate with government and contractor stakeholders, and contribute to secure, high-quality delivery in an Agile environment.

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Appian applications, including SAIL interfaces, process models, data models, business rules, records, and integrations.
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into efficient, user-friendly Appian solutions that support ACWS business processes.
  • Configure and maintain Appian process models, interfaces, rules and expressions, records, data types, reports, dashboards, and related application components.
  • Design and implement integrations with external systems and data sources using REST, SOAP, Web APIs, SFTP, HTTPS, or other approved integration methods.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and database interactions supporting Appian applications.
  • Support application deployments, environment promotion, configuration, troubleshooting, and production releases.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, functional SMEs, QA personnel, DevSecOps engineers, database administrators, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Conduct design and prototype reviews, demos, and working sessions with government stakeholders and team members.
  • Perform code reviews and follow Appian development standards, application security practices, and accessibility requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex application defects, integration problems, performance issues, and data discrepancies and drive issues to resolution.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, training materials, and support documentation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and support continuous improvement, modernization, and process optimization opportunities within ACWS.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of Appian development experience.
  • Proficiency with Appian development concepts, including SAIL, process modeling, data modeling, integrations, rules and expressions, records, and data types.
  • Experience deploying and supporting applications on the Appian Platform.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs, web services, or similar application integrations.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Appian Associate Developer, Senior Developer, or Lead Developer certification.
  • Additional experience with the Appian Platform, Appian Cloud, or Appian Government Acquisition Management capabilities.
  • Experience supporting DoD contract writing, acquisition, or other federal business process systems.
  • Experience with Appian plug-in development, Java/JEE, Spring, or Appian Smart Services.
  • Experience with LDAP, Active Directory, SSO, SAML, certificates, or related enterprise identity technologies.
  • Experience with external integration technologies such as ESB, SFTP, SOAP/WSDL, or enterprise APIs.
  • Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, Procure-to-Pay, or federal acquisition business processes.
  • Section 508 accessibility experience and familiarity with secure software development practices.

Target salary range: $101,144 - $174,591. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
