Full Job Description
Basic Function

HF Sinclair in Dallas, TX is seeking an Analytical Monitoring Engineer to join the Central Tech Services Engineering group. This position will provide technical support to the HF Sinclair Mid Con Refineries located in Artesia, NM, El Dorado, KS, and Tulsa, OK through the means of monitoring process and equipment health and providing guidance and recommendation.

Job Duties

(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
  • Reviews and validates potential failures identified by analytical tools.
  • Reviews recent failures to develop potential analytical solutions.
  • Collaborates with multiple groups to foster an adoption of analytical tools.
  • Aids in the development of standardize work processes for analytical tools
  • Supports the refineries in adoption of proactive monitoring solutions and work processes.
  • Support reliability initiatives and investigations as needed.
  • Develop templates, standard tools, and best practices for fleetwide applications
  • Provides progress, learnings, and achievements cross-fleet
  • Managing contractors and vendors associated with technology deployments
  • Be a self-starter and prioritize work effectively
  • Works on-site regularly, 1 week per month expected, special projects may require more travel
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of five years of experience in the Refining Industry with ability to understand oil flows and process unit technology. Two years experience in using analytical tools for monitoring applications. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Knowledge around the use of process data historians, Knowledge around multiple refinery process unit technologies, OSI PI Asset Framework or equivalent experience, Experience in delivering modern/digital solutions that include AI/ML Software.

Education Level

A minimum of a bachelors degree in chemical engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related fields, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a four-year degree is required.

May act as team leader during special projects, and may manage contractors and vendors

Work Conditions

Home-based with up to 25% travel by land or air is required. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions. Occasional long hours, as well as nights and weekends as needed.
