The RoleThe role will support the valuation process for IFM's funds and contribute to the ongoing development of the valuation function by:
- Providing analytical and process support to the fund valuation process, including assisting with the development and enhancement of valuation systems, controls, and procedures
- Reporting to and support the Director, Valuation Oversight (New York), in delivering valuation governance and oversight activities across IFM's funds
- Assisting in the preparation of portfolio review materials for quarterly valuation committee, investment committee and board meetings
- Liaising with Asset Class teams, Portfolio Management teams, and other stakeholders to support the end-to-end valuation process
- Helping monitor changes in portfolio exposures, new products, and relevant audit and regulatory developments impacting valuations
- Supporting responses to valuation-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including investors and auditors
- Assisting in monitoring adherence to the valuation policy across relevant business units
- Performing periodic reviews and assessments under supervision to support effective implementation of valuation processes, with particular focus on Level 3 instruments
Your Background and Experience- 2-3 years of experience at a public accounting firm, Big 4, and/or valuation firm performing valuation-related work.
- Managing valuation risk through robust documentation, papers and supporting memos.
- Prior experience focused on investment valuation and financial modelling is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
- Additional study (current or completed) is viewed favourably, but not essential e.g. CFA Charter holder, CPA
- Conducting and reviewing independent valuation, assessing assumptions, methodologies and valuation outcomes.
- Experience with unlisted assets, particularly infrastructure or infrastructure-adjacent investments.
- Strong valuation skills, including experience reviewing reports, and analysing data
- Strong Excel, Power BI skills. Proficiency in Python, SQL preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills evidenced through writing reports to support valuation conclusions.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Exact compensation amount may vary and will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills and qualifications. Total compensation for this role includes eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus.
$120,000 - $145,000
