Analyst/Senior Analyst - Enhanced Analytics

Fitch is seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst (title will be commensurate with experience) to join the Global Corporates, Infrastructure and Project Finance (CIPF) group as a member of the CIPF Enhanced Analytics team. The CIPF Enhanced Analytics team aims to prioritize, lead and execute global non-coverage analytical initiatives in the areas of criteria, research, enhanced analytics, models and other non-operational functions to support the rating and research efforts of over 400 CIPF analysts globally.

Data & Analytics is a small entrepreneurial group of hybrid analysts within the analytical group that operate at the intersection of traditional research and technology. We also harness the data and insights generated by the analysts using our tools to develop our own data-driven research and products. These products can be internal or external and can range from traditional research reports to interactive visualizations. We are seeking a new team member that can help us further build out our data infrastructure while also becoming knowledgeable about corporate credit research from an operational and analytical perspective.

We'll Count on You To:

  • Develop, support and maintain Excel applications used in the rating and research process
  • Integrate and mine large data sets, connecting data from disparate sources (primarily Oracle, Mongo databases) to identify critical insights and pragmatic data solutions
  • Collaborate with functional experts and organizational leaders in the implementation of new products and process improvements
  • Produce data-driven reports and presentations for internal and external use


What You Need to Have:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical/quantitative field
  • Previous experience as a data engineer or data analyst
  • Python, VBA and SQL programming knowledge required
  • Experience and expertise working with relational/non-relational databases and understanding of storage technologies (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB)


Nice to have:

  • Business Intelligence experience required, including hands-on development and analysis in Qlik Cloud.
  • Experience with Agile development concepts and related tools a plus

  • Have a keen interest in finance and business. Knowledge/experience in finance/accounting, economics or capital markets a plus

FOR NEW YORK, CHICAGO AND ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $95,000 and $110,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
