Job Description
Our team is looking for a Financial Engineering Analyst who has the talent of a vigilant data miner, the mindset of an innovative strategic analyst, and an insatiable passion for the financial services industry. In this data-driven role, the Analyst will be empowered to create new businesses, transform how financial decisions are made, and explore new evolving market opportunities in real time. This role is for a steadfast problem solver who can immediately respond to the ever-changing landscape of the market with actionable solutions that resolve pressing problems for our clients, stakeholders, and the firm.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and implement plans for Wedbush Securities and Wedbush Financial Services corporate strategy, including but not limited to: (i) mergers and acquisitions, (ii) the financing of Wedbush and its affiliates, (iii) product development, (iv) global and national expansion and (v) corporate structure and governance
  • Enhance the Wedbush Electronic Order System (EOS) that supports investment banking across a variety of sectors, products and execution services (trade and settlement) through budgeting, maintenance of department books and records, and upholding Wedbush policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and implement business development and investment banking mandates
  • Perform financial modeling including M&A, valuation, derivative, trading and risk modeling, quantitative analysis for at-the-market offerings, repurchase programs and proprietary position trading
  • Conduct financial assessments of private and public companies
  • Research industries, regulations, tax and other related qualitative factors that impact the financial condition of a company
  • Conduct SWOT analysis and environmental scans
  • Build solutions in investment banking by developing and managing algorithmic trading strategies
  • Perform internal audit, quality of earnings, forensic accounting and PE/VC level due diligence, contract risk assessment and quantitative interpretation
  • Market other investment banking and capital market services and securities
  • Manage and develop marketing and sales pipeline
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned


Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in Business, Economics, Finance or related field required
  • Masters or PhD in a STEM area, financial engineering, accounting or finance preferred
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, 57 and 79 licenses (will sponsor)
  • Vigilant data historian, keeper and interpreter with previous experience working with large data sets
  • Programming experience Visual Basic, SQL, C++, Java, or Python highly preferred
  • Past experience with quantitative research and developing large, scalable systems preferred
  • Prior trading or sales experience and/or investment banking experience and/or audit
  • A strong interest, curiosity, and desire to learn and understand how the financial markets operate and are regulated
  • High energy and intellectually curious candidate that is solutions-oriented and motivated to hit metrics under tight deadlines
  • Highly versatile and organized skillset willing and able to tackle a variety of tasks aligned with the sensitivity, understanding and flexibility to manage select milestones that may cause tasks to operate in series
  • Ability to develop strategies that effectively achieve goals and objectives within a regulatory framework
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of clientele, colleagues and professionals with different skillsets, objectives, motivations and mandates
  • Ability to deliver information appropriately scaled and deciphered for the receiver
  • Excellent business oriented analytical and writing skills; strong proficiency with modelling
  • Self-driven with ability to work independently/remotely under pressure, but possessing strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills

Decisions regarding compensation are determined on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The hiring salary range for this role is $85,000-100,000. Colleagues may be eligible for additional, discretionary incentive compensation based on the colleague's and the firm's performance.
