Role Title: AIX Technology Specialist

Location: Remote

Job Summary

Serve as an Infra Architect specializing in AIX Administration designing resilient scalable and secure infrastructure solutions for enterprise clients. Apply deep experience in systems architecture automation and performance tuning within a hybrid work model. Use knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance processes to align infrastructure with business outcomes regulatory needs and reliability expectations-Data Centre

Responsibilities
• Design robust AIX based infrastructure architectures that align with enterprise standards and meet key requirements for scalability security performance and maintainability
• Oversee installation configuration and lifecycle management of AIX systems to ensure consistent and reliable operations across multiple environments
• Optimize system performance by tuning kernel parameters managing workloads and monitoring capacity to support demanding enterprise applications
• Coordinate infrastructure changes with application and database teams to ensure smooth deployments and minimize service interruptions for internal and external stakeholders
• Implement backup recovery and high availability strategies for AIX environments to safeguard critical business data and ensure continuity of operations
• Develop automation scripts and procedures for standard operational tasks to reduce manual effort improve consistency and enhance overall system reliability
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to implement hardening guidelines patch strategies and audit controls for AIX systems in line with enterprise policies
• Create detailed infrastructure design documents runbooks and standard operating procedures to support knowledge sharing and operational excellence within the team
• Engage with business partners from Property and Casualty Insurance domains to understand system needs and translate them into robust and compliant infrastructure designs
• Guide incident and problem resolution efforts by analyzing complex issues in AIX environments and recommending permanent fixes that improve stability and availability
• Coordinate capacity planning and forecasting activities by analyzing growth trends usage patterns and new demands to ensure infrastructure readiness for future needs
• Partner with vendor and support teams to evaluate new AIX features tools and hardware options and recommend enhancements that improve value and reduce operational risk
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers by sharing best practices in AIX administration documentation standards and architectural thinking for long term sustainability

Qualifications
• Require extensive experience in AIX administration covering installation patching performance tuning filesystem management and troubleshooting in large scale environments
• Require strong understanding of core infrastructure components including storage networking virtualization and backup technologies as they integrate with AIX platforms
• Require practical experience with scripting and automation using tools such as shell scripting and job schedulers to standardize repetitive operational activities
• Require hands on exposure to enterprise monitoring tools and log analysis solutions to proactively detect issues and maintain high system uptime
• Require familiarity with IT service management practices including incident problem and change management within structured enterprise processes
• Nice to have domain experience in Property and Casualty Insurance to better understand policy claims and billing workflows that rely on AIX hosted applications
• Nice to have exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure models where AIX systems integrate with other platforms and services in a modern enterprise landscape
• Nice to have experience working in hybrid work models and distributed teams while maintaining effective communication documentation and knowledge sharing practices

Certifications Required

IBM Certified System Administrator AIX or equivalent advanced AIX certification preferred

Compensation: We are offering between $100,000 - $115,000. Applications will be accepted until Sep 18, 2026.Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in Canada without requiring employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
