Full Job Description
AI Specialist

Clearbridge Business Solutions | Abbotsford, BC | In Office | Full-time

A customer-facing role for someone who uses AI to solve real business problems.

THE OPPORTUNITY

AI is becoming central to how our customers operate, and we are launching an AI enablement practice to help them adopt it well. This is a new role, and you will own it from day one.

What makes this role different: it is not a technical role in disguise. The work is fundamentally about people. You will spend your time sitting across from business owners, operations managers, and executives, understanding how they work, figuring out where AI creates real value, and helping them get there. The technical depth matters, but only as a means to that end.

You will also own and grow our cybersecurity offering, working within our tiered model (Security Basics, Core, Advanced) to protect the customers we serve.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Customer-facing work
  • Lead discovery conversations. Ask the right questions to understand what a customer is actually trying to accomplish before recommending anything.
  • Translate complexity into clarity. Explain AI and security concepts in plain language to non-technical audiences, including executives and business owners.
  • Run education sessions. Facilitate lunch and learns, office hours, and hands-on training that leave customers more confident than you found them.
  • Build trust. Be the person customers call when they are not sure what to do. Consistent, thoughtful, easy to work with.

Delivery
  • Own AI enablement engagements end to end: discovery, recommendations, implementation support, and follow-through.
  • Leverage AI tools to do the heavy lifting, so you can focus your time on what matters most: the customer conversation.
  • Build out our AI consulting playbook. Make the work repeatable, not reinvented each engagement.
  • Manage our cybersecurity offering across all tiers, including dark-web monitoring and threat services.

Internal contribution
  • Partner with our service and development teams to embed AI and security best practices into how we deliver every day.
  • Stay current. Track where AI and security tooling is heading and bring the best of it back to our customers.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are not looking for someone who simply knows AI tools. We are looking for someone who knows how to have a conversation, read a room, and earn trust, and who uses AI to do more of that at a higher level.

This role is for you if:
  • You are a natural communicator. You can lead a room, explain hard things simply, and leave people feeling more capable, not more confused.
  • You lead with the business problem. You ask "What are you trying to accomplish?" before recommending a tool or a solution.
  • You use AI daily and can show it. Not theoretically, not aspirationally: your actual work has changed because of how you use AI tools. This is non-negotiable at Clearbridge.
  • You understand cybersecurity fundamentals. You can speak fluently about the threat landscape and risk controls with a non-technical audience.
  • You thrive on building. You are comfortable creating structure and process where none exists yet.
  • You are customer-obsessed. You measure your success by how much better things are for the people you work with.

Nice to have:
  • Experience in an MSP or professional services environment.
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar).
  • Exposure to HIPAA or other regulated environments (we serve HIPAA-regulated US customers).
  • A track record of delivering training or enablement programs.
