Position Overview

Riverside Research is seeking a Technical Product Manager to provide technical expertise and programmatic support relevant to defense, intelligence, and government applications of AI/ML technologies. Extensive engineering program or product management expertise is required. Subject matter expertise in expertise in engineering or computer science is required. Subject matter expertise in machine learning is desired. The position will collaborate with DoD/Government partners and commercial AI/ML vendors, and is based in Arlington, VA or Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in the implementation and engineering support of machine learning systems to include solving relevant technical and programmatic problems and assessing the technical feasibility of commercial solutions
  • Work closely with government partners and commercial vendors as a program manager throughout the prototype development lifecycle
  • Coordinate, collaborate and drive buy-in with senior government officials, executive leadership, and other high ranking stakeholders
  • Perform independent reviews and detailed technical assessments of commercial solutions and their specific applications
  • Provide reviews and assessments, analyses of applicable technologies and operational concepts, system requirements, test plans, executions, results, and related engineering documentation
  • Work with DoD/Government partners to identify and document problem statements (that can be solved by commercial AI/ML solutions)
  • Review prototype proposals from commercial vendors, reports and related project documents Participate in milestone reviews, testing, and simulations
  • Participate in post-prototype analysis activities and review and analysis of prototype data Prepare program updates, white papers, technical papers, briefs, and meeting materials
  • Respond to official requests for information and other tasks from government partners and stakeholders
  • Participate in key intra- and inter-agency meetings
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Typically a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 8 years with a master's degree, a PhD with 5 years' experience, or equivalent experience is typically required for an employee at this level. At least 3 years of this experience needs to be in engineering, program or product management role.
  • +1 years of experience as subject matter expert in AI/ML or formal training
  • Current TS/SCI clearance required
  • Ability to deliver multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder projects that demonstrably improve operational capabilities (measured by increase in accuracy, decrease in cost, decrease in time) and enhance scientific collaboration, knowledge sharing, and research for the relevant community
  • Ability to communicate to a broad range of audiences (CEOs, investors, commercial vendors, media, etc) to gain acceptance of vision, guidance and policy

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in an engineering/scientific field or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) PhD degree (or equivalent) in an engineering/scientific field
  • +1 years of experience in either Management Consulting or Business Development
  • Prior military experience
  • Experience working on DoW/IC data science programs at a senior leader or management level
  • Ability to communicate to government/military audiences (Congress, commercial DoW vendors, military officials, media, etc) to gain acceptance of vision, guidance and policy

Position Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Defines capability needs across multiple Artificial Intelligence projects based on customer requirements.
  • Works with internal technical staff to develop solution frameworks that can be addressed by commercial companies.
  • Researches and finds relevant technical capabilities in the commercial sector.
  • Works with internal contracting staff to develop project plans and timelines to achieve the potential solutions
