Full Job Description
The local Lab Operations Lead is the hands-on-keyboard engine of the geo lab. They coordinate usage of the physical and virtual lab space, provide hands-on technical support to teams using new tools, manage the local pipeline of demo and POC requests, and build the prototypes and demos that the geo's clients see. They are the technical practitioner who makes the lab feel alive day-to-day. What you will do • Coordinate day-to-day usage of the geo lab space (physical and virtual) - manage the booking calendar, room readiness, equipment, tooling access, and on-site logistics for workshops and client visits. • Provide hands-on-keyboard support to client teams and KPMG practitioners using new tools during workshops (agentic frameworks, prototyping tools, sandbox environments). • Manage the local pipeline of demo and prototype requests: triage incoming asks, scope effort, assign build resources, and track delivery. • Build and maintain working demos and proof-of-concept prototypes that showcase agentic AI use cases relevant to the local market and sector mix. • Support delivery of Workshop sessions - set up environments, troubleshoot during sessions, and capture build artifacts. • Maintain the local lab's tool stack, sandbox accounts, sample data sets, and re-usable scaffolding in alignment with national standards. • Feed prototype patterns, workshop learnings, and reusable components back to the National Lab Experience Lead for inclusion in the shared asset library. • Capture and report local lab utilization metrics (sessions delivered, prototypes built, pipeline generated) to the Geo Lab Leader and National team. What you bring to the role • 2-5 years' experience in a technical delivery role: solutions engineering, data/AI engineering, applied ML, full-stack development, or technical consulting. • Comfortable working in the terminal and using command-line interfaces across different tools and environments. • Experience with MCPs, including configuring, troubleshooting, and integrating MCP servers or clients into workflows. • Hands-on experience building with at least two of: LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI), agentic frameworks (LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Microsoft Agent Framework), Custom GPTs / Copilot Studio, Python prototyping, vector stores/RAG. • Comfort facilitating in a client-facing technical setting - workshops, demos, working sessions. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Skills and competencies • Builder mindset: Comfortable working in an integrated development environment, a cloud console, and a workshop room in the same day. • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences. • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple small development projects, sessions, and requests simultaneously while maintaining clear priorities. • Curious about emerging tools, with a practical approach focused on delivering functional solutions rather than pursuing perfection. • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with CST, Digital and Transformation teams, as well as the national lab team. KPMG Pay Range Information The expected base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
