About this position: AI Engineer Location - Washington, DC

Wage/Salary Range: $120k - $130k

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, deployment, and operation of production AI and agentic systems that automate complex federal human resources and administrative workflows.
  • Architect reliable agentic systems incorporating workflow orchestration, model and tool integration, state management, authorization controls, human review, exception handling, and auditability.
  • Build reusable AI infrastructure, components, and engineering patterns that enable agentic capabilities to be deployed across multiple workflows and use cases.
  • Develop prototypes and technical experiments, evaluate emerging AI approaches, and transition successful solutions into secure, reliable production systems.
  • Design testing, evaluation, monitoring, and failure-analysis methods to measure system accuracy, reliability, performance, and operational effectiveness in rules-governed environments.
  • Integrate AI systems with existing applications, data sources, APIs, and enterprise infrastructure while meeting applicable security, privacy, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, subject-matter experts, and engineering teams to translate operational processes, requirements, and constraints into deployable technical systems.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent certifications or military work-related experience.
  • Level of Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience with managing a variety of deliverables in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • MS Office suite experience
  • Excelled oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with senior level management both at the customer and corporate levels.
  • Ability to interpret system security policies, rules and regulations

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

Additional Qualifying Factors
