Agile Program Manager Delivery Lead

Category: Project Management

Main location: Canada, Ontario, Toronto

Position ID:J0926-1174

Employment Type: Full Time

Position Description:

The ideal candidate is a senior delivery leader who can earn trust quickly, read complex organizational dynamics, challenge constructively, remain objective across vendors, anticipate risk, simplify delivery processes and lead experienced people without unnecessary intervention. Strong Agile capability is important, but judgement, influence, relationship management and delivery leadership are the primary differentiators.

Provide senior delivery leadership for a high performing, multidisciplinary team operating within a complex, highly visible, multivendor environment. The role is accountable for creating the conditions for successful delivery by building trusted stakeholder relationships, navigating organizational and vendor dynamics, proactively managing risks and issues, optimizing delivery processes, and enabling the team to perform at a consistently high level.

A defining expectation of the role is the ability to operate with political acuity and organizational neutrality, representing the interests of the program and its outcomes rather than those of any individual vendor or organization, including their own.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Stakeholder & Relationship Leadership - Build trusted relationships across client, business, technology, leadership and vendor teams; navigate competing priorities and facilitate difficult conversations to achieve alignment and decisions.
. Multivendor Leadership & Political Acuity - Lead objectively across organizational boundaries, understand formal and informal dynamics, and resolve issues based on program outcomes rather than vendor affiliation or organizational interests.
. Risk, Issue & Escalation Management - Anticipate emerging risks, drive issues to resolution, manage dependencies and escalate effectively with clear context, impact, options and recommendations.
. Delivery & Process Optimization - Continuously improve how work flows across teams, removing bottlenecks, unnecessary process and organizational impediments while balancing speed, quality, governance and operational risk.
. High Performing Team Leadership - Protect and strengthen a mature, high performing team by creating clarity, accountability and trust; coach leaders and team members without micromanaging or imposing unnecessary process.
. Delivery Governance & Execution - Maintain an integrated view of priorities, milestones, dependencies, releases and commitments; ensure governance forums result in decisions and actions rather than status reporting.
. Executive Communication & Facilitation - Translate complex delivery matters into clear, concise messaging; facilitate discussions across technical, business and executive audiences and drive clarity on decisions, ownership and next steps.
. Quality & Operational Awareness - Maintain sufficient technical and operational understanding to challenge assumptions, identify downstream risk and ensure quality, release readiness and operational considerations are factored into delivery decisions.
. Pragmatic Agile Leadership - Apply Agile practices where they improve outcomes, adapting to team maturity and context rather than prioritizing ceremony or strict framework compliance.
