Full Job Description
PPG is hiring a Product Design Engineer within PPG's Aerospace business line. You will provide technical responsibilities including providing support to Huntsville, Sylmar, and AmpaSpace manufacturing facilities. You will report to Sr. Manager, S&T Product Development and sit onsite at our Huntsville, AL site.

Qualifications:
  • You will use engineering experience for structural design and analysis, electrical design, product testing, and product documentation.
  • Responsible for technical communications within PPG, customers, and regulatory agencies and authorities.
  • Use multiple formats, including engineering test reports, presentations, white papers to support all of our products.
  • You will work with customers, sales, product support engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality assurance, GTC, other PPG manufacturing facilities and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide continuous improvement for the department's environmental, health and safety and quality performance to insure an injury free work place, 100% compliance to customer satisfaction while meeting plant profitability goals.
  • Participate on safety and value improvement teams, attend and contribute to several ongoing activities such as manufacturing planning, budget preparation and departmental IT planning.
  • You will participate in and the PPG New Product Introduction (NPI) process during Technical Reviews and Management Gate Reviews (including New Program Selection Meeting).
  • Remain technically aware of industry trends, government regulations, customer requirements and PPG Aerospace Transparency's manufacturing process requirements to personally contribute suggestions and recommendations.
  • Lead engineering investigations and root cause analyses to identify and resolve product performance, manufacturing, and customer-related issues.
  • Develop, review, and maintain engineering specifications, drawings, test procedures, and technical documentation to support product development and regulatory compliance.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute laboratory and field testing activities to validate product performance, durability, and customer requirements.
  • Analyze test data and provide recommendations for product improvements, process optimization, and risk mitigation.
  • Support manufacturing operations by providing technical expertise, troubleshooting production challenges, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with teams to guide new product development, product enhancements, and cost reduction plans.
  • Ensure products comply with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree (BS) in Analytical Chemistry, Materials Science.
• 5+ hands-on laboratory experience.
