Full Job Description
About The Role

Serval is hiring an AE Productivity Lead to build a center of excellence with one goal: make our AEs dramatically more productive. Not incrementally, an order of magnitude. The way we get there is by taking the best practices that top reps do today and converting it into automated workflows and systems that scale across the company. This will include use of Serval's own product in addition to other AI and automation.

This is part product manager, part GTM engineer. You will spend time watching how the best AEs actually work, then go build the tools that let every other rep work that way. Some of that is automations in Serval. SOme of it is agentic automations. Some of it is rep-facing tooling that helps an AE better manage their own account books. Some of it is prompt and sequence design that improve pipeline generation. The north star is increasing ARR per AE.

You partner across the business to identify areas for improvement and then go out to capture the value. Collaborators include Sales reps and leaders, Marketing, Sales Enablement, Business Systems Engineering, and RevOps. You will be at the core of developing a more innovative Revenue Operations function with AI at the core.

What You'll Do

Find and codify what top performers do differently
  • Study how top AEs actually spend their week and identify the specific behaviors, sequences, and habits that separate them from others
  • Partner with Enablement and Revenue Strategy & Operations to distinguish what is teachable skill from productizable workflows, and take ownership of the second category
  • Turn those findings into a prioritized build roadmap, ranked by expected impact on ARR

Ruthlessly remove low-value work
  • Audit where AE hours actually go and attack the categories that produce no pipeline and no customer value
  • Treat every recurring manual task as a candidate for automation, elimination, or reassignment
  • Hold the line against process that gets added faster than it gets removed

Build the automations and the tooling
  • Develop AE automations in Serval's product and other AI tooling that streamline the daily grind: account research, outreach, deal execution, data entry, follow-up, and CRM hygiene
  • Build rep-facing tooling that helps an AE run their own book without relying on manual effort or other stakeholders
  • Develop sequences and AI messaging prompts that make pipeline generation low-friction and repeatable across the team
  • Ship fast, measure whether reps actually adopt, and kill what does not get used

Contribute AE workflow requirements across the stack
  • Identify friction points keeping AEs from getting full value out of our existing tools
  • Develop requirements for AE workflows in our tech stack: define what good looks like, then partner with Business Systems on what should be built durably and with Enablement on what needs to be taught
  • Be the single voice representing the AE's daily experience in tooling and systems decisions

What You'll Bring
  • 5-8+ years across some combination of GTM engineering, revenue operations, sales productivity, or product management, with real depth in at least one and working fluency in the others
  • Hands-on building experience. You have shipped automations, internal tools, or workflows that people actually used, and you can build a working version yourself rather than writing a spec and waiting
  • Fluency with modern GTM and AI tooling: sales engagement platforms, data and enrichment tools, workflow automation, and AI prompting. You know what these tools can and cannot do because you have pushed them
  • Deep curiosity and familiarity with how an AE's week actually works.
  • Product instincts: you can tell the difference between something reps say they want and something they will use every day
  • Strong analytical skills. You can instrument what you build, measure adoption, and tie it back to a revenue metric.
  • Comfort operating cross-functionally and holding a clear scope boundary with adjacent teams without turf-fighting
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias to build. This is a new function with a hard target and no playbook
  • Bonus points: experience at a company that sold automation or AI tooling, or that ran its own product internally as a proof point
  • Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week in San Francisco, CA

What We Offer
  • Impact: Be a key player in shaping the success of our product and company.
  • Growth: Build a fundamentally new AI product offering with the support of our experienced team and investors. Grow rapidly with the company.
  • Culture: Join a culture that values innovation, ownership, accountability, and fun.
