Role Overview

We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Orthopedic Oncology Operating Room and Outpatient Clinic team. In this role, you'll provide first assist support for orthopedic oncology surgical procedures, working closely with orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and perioperative staff to deliver exceptional surgical care. You will also see patients in both shared and independent visit models in the ambulatory clinic, caring for patients from initial diagnosis to long-term surveillance.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced surgical APP with a passion for orthopedic surgery, oncology patients, and the operating room. You'll contribute to complex oncologic procedures while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care.

Key Qualifications

For Physician Assistants:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • NCCPA certification
  • Active New York State license (or eligibility)
  • Experience as a surgical first assist in the operating room; orthopedic and/or orthopedic oncology experience preferred
  • BLS certification (ACLS preferred)

For Nurse Practitioners:
  • Current New York State RN and NP licenses
  • Current New York State NP licensure with the ability to treat pediatric patients
  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • National NP certification
  • Prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)
  • RNFA certification and operating room first assist experience required; orthopedic and/or orthopedic oncology experience preferred
  • BLS certification (ACLS preferred)

  • Location: Main Hospital Campus, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY (OR), Rockefeller Outpatient Pavillion, 160 E 53rd Street (Outpatient/Consult), and weekly rotation (1 weekday) to MSK Westchester, 500 Westchester Ave, West Harrison, NY 10604
  • Schedule: Full time. Flexible weekday, 10-hour shifts with Saturday OR rotation.
  • Reports to: Manager, APP

Pay Range: $136,400.00 - $225,100.00
