Job DescriptionJoin Ameriprise Financial's Valuation team as an Actuarial Associate, where you'll apply your analytical and modeling skills to support key actuarial valuation activities. In this role, you'll develop and enhance actuarial models, analyze and communicate results to management, and help drive accurate business insights. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior team members and interns while continuing to grow your actuarial expertise in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- This position will support the Corporate Actuarial group with a focus on analyzing GAAP and Statutory reserves for our insurance valuation business. In addition, the position will support initiatives to enhance the understanding of Long-Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI).
- With limited supervision, provides technical analysis and support by developing, improving, operating and documenting various actuarial models.
- Prepares job related reports, summarizes and communicates results to middle management.
- Participates in projects within a well-defined scope and responsibility and performs actuarial modeling and analysis.
- Supports the validation and development of business controls.
- Professional development to maintain Actuarial credentials
Required Qualifications- Bachelors degree or equivalent (4 years)
- 3-5 years relevant experience
- All Introductory ASA exams plus 1 Actuarial/Advanced ASA Exam or Requirement.
- Validation by Educational Experience (VEE) coursework completion.
- 3 years of actuarial experience.
- Ability to work independently; self-starter.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with MS Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI, and other database applications

Base Pay SalaryThe estimated base salary for this role is $93,400 - $128,400 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
