Description ACCOUNTING MANAGERReports to: Accounting DirectorClassification: Salary (Exempt)Grade: G 3 SUMMARYThe Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role leads preparation for external and internal audits, manages tax filings and applications for available tax incentives/credits, and serves as the primary point of contact for Headquarters (HQ) reporting requests and ad-hoc requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage and oversee the full monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statements.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by the accounting team.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and present variance analysis to management.
- Lead preparation for external financial statement audits including PBC (prepared-by-client) schedules, documentation, and coordination with auditors.
- Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee corporate tax filings (federal, state, and local), including income tax, sales & use tax, property tax, and other statutory filings, in coordination with external tax advisors.
- Identify, apply for, and manage tax incentives, credits, and grants available to the company (e.g., IRA/45X manufacturing production tax credit, state and local incentive programs), including compliance and ongoing reporting requirements.
- Respond to and manage requests from Headquarters (HQ), including consolidated reporting packages, ad-hoc analysis, and compliance with HQ accounting policies.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
- Manage, train, and mentor accounting staff, and review their work product.
- Support budget and forecast processes as needed.
- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing the month-end close and audit process
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and working knowledge of corporate tax compliance and filing requirements
- Proficiency in MS Office Excel and SAP (or similar ERP systems)
- Experience managing external audit relationships .
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with headquarters and cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- Able to stand and walk the production area throughout the workday
- Reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting as required within limits set by Hanwha Q CELLS USA, Inc.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION- CPA or CMA certification
- Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation
- Experience in corporate accounting/tax within a manufacturing industry, particularly at a multinational or Korean-affiliated company
- Experience with tax credit/incentive applications (e.g., IRA 45X, state incentive programs)
