Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of the Oak View Group (OVG) Hospitality Accounting department. The Accounting Manager will oversee the department's monthly close process as well as mentor/lead a team of five accounting professionals. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), strong leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of leadership. This role will play an integral role in developing and documenting standardized accounting procedures and controls.

This role pays an annual salary of $103,000-$133,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Accounting Operations: Supervise, manage, and review all month-end accounting procedures, including reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing venue-level and overall department P&Ls, researching accounting variances, and preparing overhead journal entries/reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting: Review venue-level financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness and compliance with GAAP and company policies/controls.
  • Accounting Guidance: Provide accounting guidance and recommendations to team members as well as Divisional and Regional Senior Level Management.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Assist with the implementation and adherence to internal controls and the company's standard accounting procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff. Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficient accounting systems and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Audit Coordination: Assist with annual corporate audits and venue-level audits to ensure that all necessary audit requests are prepared and provided in a timely manner.
  • Ad hoc Reporting and Analysis: Provide financial analysis, research, and reports to support decision-making by senior management. Assist with special projects as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and internal controls.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with NetSuite and Coupa preferred.
