Full Job Description
About the Role

Stord is looking for an Accounting Manager, M&A Integration & Special Projects to join our
Finance & Accounting team. This is a high-impact role focused primarily on M&A integration -
driving the operational and financial stand-up of acquired entities, managing close process
integration, overseeing Transition Service Agreements, and tracking synergies and integration
milestones from Day 1 through full completion. The role also supports special projects and
process improvement initiatives under the direction of the Director of Corporate Accounting.
M&A integration experience is a plus, but not a prerequisite - a strong accounting foundation,
project ownership, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-moving environment are what matter
most in this role.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting, you will drive M&A integration execution -
from Day 1 readiness through full integration of the acquired entity into Stord's systems,
processes, and financial close. The Director provides the technical accounting direction; this
role provides the project ownership, operational follow-through, and bandwidth to drive
integration thoroughly and on a defined timeline. You will also support special projects and
process improvement initiatives as directed.

Key Responsibilities

M&A Integration & Close Process Management (Primary Focus)

This is the primary responsibility of the role. The Manager will own the execution of M&A

integration from a finance and accounting perspective, working under the direction of the

Director of Corporate Accounting. Responsibilities include:

  • Support pre-close integration planning as directed - beginning to map the acquired entity's systems, processes, and operational infrastructure so that Day 1 readiness activities can begin immediately at close.
  • Identify operational and financial process gaps in the acquired entity during integration; escalate accounting and GAAP compliance matters to the Director for resolution; and ensure all open items are documented and tracked to closure.
  • Drive Day 1 readiness: ensure the acquired entity can operate on Stord's systems and processes from close, with all accounting workflows identified and covered.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the acquired entity's close process; ensure the entity is manually included in Stord's consolidated close during the transition period; and implement the controls and procedures needed to ensure completeness and accuracy once fully integrated.
  • Execute chart of accounts harmonization, opening balance sheet reviews, and full accounting process integration into Stord's infrastructure.
  • Own the integration project plan from a finance and accounting perspective: track milestones, surface bottlenecks, and drive the integration to completion on a defined timeline.
  • Establish a framework for identifying, documenting, and tracking synergies resulting from acquisitions - cost savings, revenue opportunities, and operational efficiencies - and report to leadership on a consistent basis.
  • Manage Transition Service Agreements (TSAs) associated with each acquisition: track all services in scope, ensure invoices are received and remittances are made accurately and on time, and coordinate wind-down of TSA services as integration milestones are reached.

Special Projects

  • Execute high-priority, time-bound projects assigned by the Director of Corporate Accounting - including accounting policy development, implementation of new accounting standards, ad hoc financial analysis, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Bring structure and accountability to cross-functional projects that require finance and accounting leadership but do not fit neatly into day-to-day operations.

Process Review & Improvement

  • Review existing accounting processes and workflows; identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Document current-state workflows and develop recommendations for enhanced procedures, in coordination with the Director of Corporate Accounting.
  • Support implementation of process improvements and help ensure changes are properly documented and communicated.
  • Assist in identifying key controls embedded in processes as part of building the broader control environment.

Additional Support (As Directed)

As bandwidth allows and as directed, this role may assist with:

  • Technical accounting research and memo preparation under the direction of the Director.
  • Revenue and lease contract reviews (ASC 606 / ASC 842) as assigned.
  • Internal controls documentation and SOX support under the direction of the Director.
  • Financial reporting deliverables and external audit support as directed.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CPA license preferred but not required; equivalent demonstrated experience in technical accounting will be considered.
