Account Manager - Software Product Engineering
Account Manager I
You Are:
We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to manage and grow strategic customer relationships within our Software Product Engineering practice. This is not a traditional account management role focused on staffing, resource augmentation, or operational coordination.
The opportunity:
• Strategic Customer Ownership
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customer stakeholders across business and technology functions.
• Develop trusted advisor relationships with CIOs, CTOs, Product Leaders, Engineering Leaders, Digital Transformation Leaders, and executive stakeholders.
• Understand customer business objectives, strategic priorities, operational challenges, and technology roadmaps.
• Serve as the primary point of contact and executive sponsor for assigned accounts.
• Maintain a deep understanding of customer success metrics and desired business outcomes.
• Outcome-Focused Account Leadership Shift conversations from activities and staffing to business outcomes and value realization.
• Ensure customer engagements remain aligned to strategic objectives.
• Partner closely with delivery and engineering teams to drive successful customer outcomes.
• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities within customer environments.
• Lead executive reviews, governance meetings, and strategic planning sessions.
• Product Engineering & Modernization
• Engage customers in strategic discussions around:
• Product Modernization oLegacy Transformation o Digital Product Development o Cloud Adoption and Optimization o AI and Generative AI o Platform Engineering o DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) o Engineering Productivity o Data and Analytics o Operational Excellence Help customers define transformation priorities and modernization roadmaps.
• Identify opportunities where technology can accelerate business objectives and create competitive advantage.
• Account Growth & Business Development Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.
• Partner with solution architects, engineering leaders, and sales teams to shape opportunities and proposals. Develop strategic account plans focused on customer success and sustainable growth.
• Support commercial discussions, renewals, and expansion initiatives.
• Drive account growth through value creation and trusted advisory relationships. Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborate effectively across engineering, delivery, sales, finance, and leadership teams.
• Bring structure and clarity to complex customer situations.
• Influence internal and external stakeholders to drive decisions and outcomes.
• Ensure alignment between customer expectations and delivery commitments.

What you need:
• 8-15 years of experience managing enterprise technology accounts.
• Experience working within software engineering, product engineering, digital transformation, consulting, or technology services organizations.
• Proven ability to build relationships with senior executives and key decision-makers.
• Experience managing complex enterprise customers with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of customer engagement and account growth strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments. Technology Awareness
• The ideal candidate does not need to be deeply technical but should be comfortable discussing modern technology concepts and understanding how they drive business outcomes.
• Areas of familiarity should include: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Agile Product Development Product Engineering Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) DevOps Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Platform Engineering Data & Analytics Application Modernization Digital Transformation Desired Leadership Traits Strong executive presence and communication skills.
• Exceptional relationship-building capabilities. Ability to influence without authority.
• Comfortable engaging with C-level stakeholders. Strong commercial and business acumen.
• Naturally curious and customer-focused. Ability to thrive in ambiguity and create clarity.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Georgia
Compensation Range: $112,000-$168,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
