Full Job Description
Description

The Opportunity

Fully Managed, a TELUS company, helps organizations simplify, secure and modernize their technology environments through managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud and professional services.

We're looking for an Account Manager focused on new-logo acquisition and growth. This is a consultative sales role for someone who can create opportunities, qualify them thoughtfully, build credibility with business and technology leaders, and lead opportunities from initial engagement through commercial close.

You'll benefit from access to TELUS's extensive sales channels, established client relationships and internal referral networks. However, we're equally interested in what you can bring to the table. You'll be expected to actively develop new business through your own professional network, industry connections, social media and direct engagement with prospective clients.

We believe business development is everyone's responsibility. Whether an opportunity comes through a TELUS referral, an existing client relationship or a conversation within your own network, we encourage our people to recognize genuine opportunities and make meaningful connections.

Our approach is relationship-first. We aren't looking for someone who simply pushes products or waits for leads to arrive. We're looking for someone who is naturally curious about other businesses, comfortable initiating conversations and proactive about creating opportunities where there's a genuine fit.

You'll work closely with TELUS sales teams and Fully Managed technical, strategy and service-delivery resources to develop the right solutions and bring the right expertise into each pursuit.

What You'll Do

Create opportunities and build relationships

  • Proactively generate new business through your professional network, referrals, industry relationships, social media, targeted outreach and direct engagement with prospective clients
  • Leverage TELUS sales channels, account teams and internal referral networks to develop and advance qualified managed-services opportunities
  • Build lasting relationships with business owners, executives and technology leaders, identifying where Fully Managed can address meaningful business and technology challenges
  • Create opportunities through authentic conversations, thoughtful follow-up and consistent relationship development, rather than relying exclusively on inbound leads or assigned opportunities
  • Cultivate referrals through existing relationships, satisfied clients, TELUS colleagues and the broader Fully Managed team

Own the sales process

  • Take ownership of new-logo managed IT opportunities from initial engagement through commercial close
  • Lead structured discovery to understand a prospective client's business, technology environment, operational challenges, risks and desired outcomes
  • Qualify opportunities around the fundamentals that make a pursuit real: why change, why now and why Fully Managed?
  • Identify the economic buyer, key stakeholders, decision criteria, budget expectations and commercial process
  • Establish clear, mutual next steps that create momentum and move qualified opportunities toward a decision
  • Maintain accurate opportunity stages, close dates, next steps and forecast categories in Salesforce

Develop solutions and drive growth

  • Partner with technical, strategy and service-delivery resources to validate client environments, develop solutions and shape proposals
  • Translate technical capabilities into clear business outcomes that resonate with executive and operational stakeholders
  • Present managed-services solutions and commercial recommendations to prospective clients
  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes while maintaining accountability for the opportunity
  • Identify opportunities for additional TELUS and Fully Managed solutions where they create meaningful client value
  • Participate in win/loss reviews and apply lessons learned to improve qualification, positioning, commercial strategy and conversion

What Success Looks Like

You build a pipeline that is not only large enough, but credible and executable.

You consistently create opportunities through both TELUS-supported channels and your own business-development efforts. Your professional relationships are an active source of introductions, referrals and new conversations.

Your opportunities have clear business drivers, engaged decision-makers and defined next steps. You know which pursuits deserve investment, which require further qualification, and which should be removed from the active forecast.

You create productive relationships with TELUS sellers and internal delivery teams, bring the right expertise into opportunities at the right time, and consistently move qualified opportunities toward a decision.

Ultimately, success is measured by new clients acquired, recurring revenue generated, self-sourced pipeline, pipeline quality and predictable conversion.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B technology, managed services, telecommunications, SaaS or other technical consultative sales environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing and closing new business
  • A track record of generating your own opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals or relationship-driven business development
  • Strong discovery and qualification skills, with the confidence to ask thoughtful, sometimes challenging questions to uncover a prospective client's true needs
  • Experience engaging multiple stakeholders, including business leaders, finance, IT and executive decision-makers
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business value and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to distinguish genuine buying intent from exploratory or price-shopping activity
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and maintaining accurate opportunity and forecast data
  • Familiarity with managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud or infrastructure solutions is strongly preferred
  • A degree or diploma is an asset, but equivalent practical experience is equally valued

How You Work

You are curious, commercially minded and comfortable taking ownership.

You build trust quickly without being transactional. You prepare well, ask thoughtful questions and listen closely enough to understand what is actually driving a client's decision.

You have the initiative to build your own network and create opportunities. Whether you're reconnecting with a former colleague, attending an industry event, engaging with someone on LinkedIn or following up on a referral, you're comfortable starting conversations and exploring where TELUS Fully Managed might be a good fit.

You're persistent without being pushy. You recognize that strong business development comes from credibility, consistent follow-through and a genuine interest in helping clients succeed.

You also understand that selling managed services is a team sport. You know when to involve technical specialists, service-delivery leaders and executives while remaining accountable for moving the opportunity forward.

What You'll Find at TELUS Fully Managed

  • Competitive base compensation with uncapped commission potential
  • TELUS RSP matching and employee share programs
  • Additional TELUS employee perks
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits
  • Access to established TELUS sales channels, referral networks and client relationships
  • Dedicated technical, strategy and service-delivery experts who support complex client pursuits
  • Professional development and career opportunities across Fully Managed and TELUS
  • A collaborative environment where sales, technical and operational teams work together to acquire new clients and deliver exceptional client experiences

Salary Range: $60,000 - $109,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: $39,600 - $73,200

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, even if the posted salary range doesn't match your expectations. We're open to discussing competitive compensation packages tailored to your experience level and expertise. TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
  • Comprehensive total rewards package highlighting competitive salary and bonus structures, minimum 3 weeks of vacation, and flexible benefits plan to meet the needs of you and your family
  • Flexibility to work in-office, virtually or a combination of both, based on the role's requirements
  • Generous company matched pension and share purchase programs
  • Opportunity to give back to communities in which we work, live and serve
  • Career growth and learning & development opportunities to develop your skills
  • And much more ...
