Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture key relationships with C-suite executives and client teams.
  • Act as primary liaison for major financial institutions and fintech clients.
  • Increase account growth through customer success strategies like upselling and referrals.
  • Gain expertise in clients' workflows and collaborate internally to improve solutions.
  • Create operational playbooks and feedback mechanisms to scale the account management function.
  • Work closely with the CEO and collaborate with product and engineering teams on customer operations.
  • Drive customer success initiatives to ensure client satisfaction with Baselayer.

As the founding Account Manager you will be responsible for being the ultimate relationship builder and the trusted advisor clients look to when they have mission-critical fraud and compliance decisions to make.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Be the ultimate relationship builder.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives and client teams, gaining deeper insights into their pain points and feedback.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for some of the largest financial institutions, payment providers and fintech companies in the country.
  • Drive account growth through upsells, renewals, and referrals by ensuring customers succeed with Baselayer.
  • Become an expert in customers' workflows and pain points - then work with internal teams to address them.
  • Develop playbooks, feedback loops, and operational processes that help scale the AM/CS function.
  • Work directly to the CEO and collaborate with product and engineering on scaling customer operations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • You have 3+ years of experience in business development, customer success or implementation roles at a fast-growing startup or a highly-competitive environment (management consulting, banking, or venture capital).
  • Plus: clear understanding of how financial institutions adopt and operationalize compliance and fraud tools - whether through your own experience or from advising similar customers.
  • Excellent communication skills and an energetic, professional presence driving a room, a Zoom or a QBR.
  • Confidence working with C-level stakeholders and navigating ambiguity.
  • Resilience and grit - you get things done.
  • Proactive and curious self-starter who thrives in dynamic settings.
  • Highly feedback-oriented. We believe in radical candor and using feedback to get to the next level.

WORK LOCATION
  • Based in NYC; hybrid - 4 days per week in office.

COMPENSATION
  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $170,000 + Equity
  • Variable Compensation: Commissions
