DESCRIPTION
As a direct client contact person, the Account Executive (AE) is responsible for delivery of all high value and in-scope contracted services pertaining to most Core Government Ministries and select Broader Public Sector organizations, ensuring performance goals and cost commitments are met. The AE works with business partners and vendors to develop, implement, and lead a customer centric Account Management operational model that promotes customer satisfaction through efficient, effective delivery of services. The AE proactively manages issues that could impact service delivery by identifying and driving optimization while managing the scope, resources, and cost of delivery associated with the account. The AE understands the needs of the client and is able to analyze delivery requirements, contribute to the client’s strategic business plan, and create incremental revenue opportunities, while actively seeking opportunities to drive down the cost of delivery. As the principal contact for all service, operational, and tactical issues for the client and ESIT-AS, the AE develops and nurtures an excellent client relationship at the executive level to support and contribute to growth opportunities. This position has the highest level of complexity involving cross-divisional coordination.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/DELIVERABLES

The Account Executive manages the activities of exempt individual contributors and is accountable for a large multi-department area with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy. The AE applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established policies; acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term organizational goals; and plans, directs, and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of staff. Specific responsibilities include:
 

Leads account management activities and services by:

• Managing and growing executive customer/client relationship for a strategic account or portfolio of accounts;

• Acting as a trusted advisor at the executive level for the client;

• Managing and driving customer satisfaction for a portfolio of accounts;

• Contributing strategically to the Account Management methodology, ensuring current and future business requirements are accommodated;

• Driving Account Management partnerships that put ESIT-AS in a trusted advisor status with customers and vendors;

• Designing strategic account support through proactively maintaining high level technical and operational expertise and understanding of industry trends and requirements; and

• Contributing thought leadership in ESIT-AS Account Management.

Contributes to ESIT-AS and client strategic operational goals by:

• Shaping the strategic agenda and creating the context for successful partnerships which generate significant business;

•Applying deep and broad technical and business experience and knowledge of industry to drive organizational direction, strategies, and business model;

• Acting as executive sponsor for strategic customer engagements;

• Serving as an internal consultant to support Account Delivery operational model offering strategic ideas low leverage emerging service portfolio;

• Developing and promoting customer strategies that contribute to strategic growth plans; and

• Contributes thought leadership that will prioritize and develop Account Delivery Management operational strategies.

Manages the overall business impact of the Account Management function by:

• Driving resolution of difficult situations that have significant business impact;

• Driving consensus across the organization on difficult topics;

• Contributing to compelling business case development to demonstrate high value of ESIT-AS delivery solutions;

• Demonstrating leadership in industry organizations as a representative of ESIT-AS;

• Providing feedback and influencing change in internal and/or vendor-provided products/service offerings;

• Investigating, analyzing, and developing senior management recommendations for strategic operational issues;

• Leading the development of organizational business operating plans;

• Partnering across business unit management team to attain broader ESIT-AS business targets; and

• Ensuring knowledge management is captured, documented, and leveraged for improved performance across Account Management portfolio.

Leads the ESIT-AS Account Management team by:

• Mentoring and coaching with a high level of influence to develop and grow others;

• Managing the resource pool of Client Relations Directors, forecasting resource requirements, and staffing to meet demand;

• Aligning resources to business needs, ensuring optimization of staff talent and expertise;

• Identifying and hiring top talent to achieve business results;

• Managing and coaching Account Management Team to achieve best-in-class service, drive down cost of delivery, and attain a trusted advisor status with the customer; and

• Ensuring continuous development and achievement of Client Relations Directors and other members of the Account Management team and taking appropriate disciplinary and/or corrective action as required.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Education and Experience

• Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 10+ years’ related business experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to build and manage strong customer relationships at the executive level;

• Superior influence and negotiation skills;

• Ability to apply business management, financial concepts, and contracts knowledge to analyze business needs and develop recommendations;

• Ability to understand and analyze issues or problems to develop and implement corrective action plans;

• Appropriate knowledge and methods to resolve very complex business issues with significant organizational impact;

• Leadership ability in building and managing a cross-cultural, cross-functional business team in order to provide effective and efficient customer support;

• Proactive with an ability to effectively manage risk on high to very high-risk projects;

• Strong coach and mentor to Client Relations Directors and other Account Management staff;

• Ability to develop and consistently apply quality and continuous improvement plans;

• Ability to develop and present high-impact messaging to executive level management;

• Knowledge of custom (non-standard) service delivery including external partners and multivendor;

• Superior written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to represent ESIT-AS at external customer and industry events;

• Industry sector knowledge;

• Crisis and conflict management skills;

• In-depth knowledge of corporate, public, and legal policies as applicable to Account Management;

• Strong people-management ability with an ability to lead and coordinate teams of all sizes;

• Strong ability to negotiate with work groups, customers, and ESIT-AS management.
